I definitely am a curmudgeon, but fireworks also do nothing for me. Actually, I find them annoying, wasteful, and rude. Seeing a crowd of people ooh and aah over some loud sparkly lights is kinda disturbing.

It's more than just for fireworks, it's a massive new arena that will have the ability to put on displays for events. It just so happened that the first full lighting show was last night, the 4th. This sums up why I moved out. Eventually, maybe not tomorrow or even in my working lifetime, the jig will be up on that city. Lake Mead is drying up, there's casinos scattered across the flyover states, and Vegas is riding an old reputation so hard that what used to be practically given away to bring in gamblers is now the most expensive part of the trip. I remember the first time a run down shithole told me a domestic was 15/bottle, fuck no bro I can buy the entire sixer for that!

Vegas Sphere - it's an amphitheater in Vegas and I think part of the Venetian hotel/casino complex. I don't think the inside is done but the plans and mock-ups I've seen are pretty dope - it has full projection inside as well, like a planetarium on meth.
