I got shot by a .40 cal...

So this is a picture of the bullet that changed my life.

I was with some friends at an outdoor shooting range where you could bring your own things to shoot as long as you cleaned up after yourselves. People didn't. They left so much shit. Well we were having fun and teaching my younger brother gun safety and enjoying your guns and then one of my friends gets the bright idea to fire at a small flat object at his feet. I am standing behind him loading a .357 magnum...i hear a gun shit and immediately feel immense pain. I yelled out as I grabbed my right shoulder. I walked away quickly and so many things are going on in my head.

My friends look over thinking I'm joking and then I pull my hand down and they see the bullet. They run over and the bullet had ricocheted off of the what turned out to be a heatsink and hit my in the shoulder just at the collar bone from about 3 feet away.

I was lucky it didn't penetrate. We packed up and left. We stopped by an Applebee's on the way home and I tried to get a free dinner but no luck. The next day I woke up and my arm wouldn't move and my chest and shoulder was black and blue. It was bad. I ignored it for a couple weeks with not having much use of my arm and finally saw a doctor. Had found out I had some bone fragments and bursa was inflamed. Had to have surgery to have it repaired. I ended up being out of work and losing my job for several months. I had to move my truck to keep it from being repossessed. Luckily I was offered a job late that year after being unemployed for 5 months which led me on a long wonderful path.

Today I have full use of my arm except some stiffness and pain on occasion. Moral of the story is don't do stupid shit and be careful which friends you trust.
