I think he means smallpox. We haven’t eradicated polio and it still exists in some parts of the world.

It's been required for over a century in some States.

Latest response I heard to this is "I'm not against vaccines THAT WORK" - as if other vax breakthroughs aren't avoided by herd immunity...

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Fuckin for real. I have to have vaccinations to travel?! Like yeah u always have none of this is new at all

5 years ago | Likes 83 Dislikes 2

*begins explaining something stupid* “wait wait my wife actually just convinced me that’s stupid” lol I love this format

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Fake. Most people.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

I was going to say, we have always had to show vaccination records for public school. Though there are ways around it.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Remember when they were called "immunization records" and nobody was pissed off about that?

5 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

YES! That's the solution! We should just start calling them "immunization records"; maybe that won't trigger some uninformed folks.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah I remember taking them and not having to worry about still wearing masks and still getting infected

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don’t think the spreadnecks passed high school at all how do we have so many idiots??

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

It's not required to vaccinate your kids in the Netherlands in order to go to school (yet) but most everyone does it anyway.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

however currently covid shots only reduce how bad it is when you get infected. however you still have the same amount of transmission.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 21

unlike polio who you where 99% of the time safe from after vacc. covid is a variant of the common cold and there's nothing to be done sadly.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 17

Except no, Covid shots prevent infection in most cases. Breakthroughs occur & vaxed transmission can occur, but it doesn't only mitigate.

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Eradicated. Think about that word. We all collectively said "no" and ended it. My god. Imagine.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I honestly never knew it was called a vaccine passport.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just was sent something in the mail about a car passport needing to be renewed!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Your privilege is showing, a lot of poc dont have ID

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

True, and I apologize. But it's about the overall ridiculousness of thinking safety requirements are somehow robbing people.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There are no records of my vaccinations. Does that mean I can't go to kindergarten?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Polio isn’t technically eradicated. It’s still around, cases upticked cause of antivaxxers and the internet for the first time in decades

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

But since everyone (most everyone)is vaccinated for it in the us it is largely non existent. We stop vaccinating Itl come right back

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The list is long if you look up your immunization records.... vaccines have been around a long fucking time.. wake up fukkrrs

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I had to get three shots and a TB test before starting college. Just suck it up and take your medicine.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Kindergartners can’t get the COVID vaccine just yet so this makes no sense.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 5

scrolled down for this.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nobody said anything about a covid vaccine. Vaccines have been required to attend schools for a LONG time.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I had to get the MMR vaccine to play sports in middle school… providing your records of your vaccine is nothing new. People need to grow up

5 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 2

they’re uneducated and don’t wanna learn they fear knowledge and intelligence

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Polio is not a respiratory virus. You cannot cure covid or other respiratory viruses with a vaccine.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

What the fuck are you talking about? https://www.lung.org/lung-health-diseases/wellness/vaccines

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Diseases caused by bacteria are different than ones caused by viruses. That's what I'm talking about.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

Poliovirus, big brain. It is not a bacteria. Vaccines are also not cures. Please go back to eating crayons in the corner.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Did you not read what I wrote? You cannot cure respiratory viruses with a vaccine. Polio is not a respiratory virus.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

You don't need to "cure" a virus with a vaccine, the vaccine is a prophylactic AGAINST catching it and having it propagate inside you!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Polio, tetanus, smallpox, influenza, rubella, hib, measles, whooping cough, rotavirus, mumps, chickenpox, diptheria, hepatitis A and B...

5 years ago | Likes 170 Dislikes 3

Amd meningitis. Had to get that one before I started college years ago.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait...what about distemper and wrong species.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

We didn't start the fire! It was always burning, since the world's been turning!

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but most of those are not eradicated.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My friend, a teacher, missed my wedding because unvaccinated kids at her school gave her whooping cough

5 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

If you’ve ever seen a baby with whooping cough…. Terrifying. Can’t imagine voluntarily subjecting my child to that.

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Also, strangers please stop trying to touch my baby.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yeah its kinda funny that people forget that you have to vaccination records to go to school. Even college. Kinda why homeschooling 1/2

5 years ago | Likes 501 Dislikes 9

People didn’t forget. Anti-vaxxers are using COVID to purposely push for an end to completely normal and sane vaccination requirements. /

5 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

/ Before COVID, they were a growing but still fringe group of irresponsible parents, but now they have more power than ever and are using it

5 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It IS funny that you guys don't have such good healthcare for kids that you'd know enough of them are vaccinated without proof!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

"You'd know enough are vaccinated without proof" what?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What? Universal Heathcare allows you to know these things without asking someone for a piece of paper.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Not really? They don't tell you if someone elected not to get vaccinated all the same. I like single payer but bad argument

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

You know the percentage and you know what's needed for herd immunity. You don't need to know if child x was vaccinated.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Became a thing well that and evolution isn't real and we don't want are kid exposed to that nonsense, but aren't those really two sides 2/3

5 years ago | Likes 192 Dislikes 8

Evolution is real?

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Dude...read your stuff before you hit post. You can't even use the right words. "We dont want are kid"?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 21

Your next most recent comment on a different post begins, "All the comments loom the same here." Don't be a cunt.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Yep. Which is why I told him. I didnt read it and looked like a dummy.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Well, props for owning it

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Maybe, instead of doing that you could just be more understanding?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

and now you look like a jerk.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Homeschooling, innit?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Of the same coin. Anyway get vaxxed. Evolution is real. The earth is round.

5 years ago | Likes 143 Dislikes 7

I was homeschooled from first to eighth grade

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Why you gotta say something so controversial, yet so brave?

Alright, it's an oblate spheroid

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

That's only Italy.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Was homeschooled, can confirm.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm honestly thinking about homeschooling ours. Not bc of religion, but bc our school system is trash and whitewashing everything

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Thats fair. I live in a progressive area so that has never been a problem for me or my partners children.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Nothings stopping ppl from using resources like the discovery techbook for science and other topics. Just make sure thekids have a community

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oddly, some of us homeschool to get our kids AWAY from the religious nutjobs.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

There are religious nutjobs at school...?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wrong, the earth is a giant turtle buddy. Read a book sometime

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

What? Mate, no. The world is a flat disk that is on the back of a giant space turtle.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There are other reasons to homeschool aside from religious ones. Too often, the public school system lets kids down. And they're underfunded

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

And you think you can do better?! Maybe elementary and some of middle school but that’s it. Plus school is so much more than learning…

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

… facts etc. it’s about growing as a person. It’s about making friends, having a crush etc. and yes sometimes it sucks but looking back…

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It’s still probably the best time of your life.
