I see no arguments in this article. Why did they choose not to continue? Will they evaluate the impact on this experiment?

Didnt have the desired effect

I don't think we've learned...

We are learning, but we have a long way to go.

…and vice versa.

Finland's mistakes...there, fixed that for you. (It was a small experiment as well)

What happened to that pan-european identity?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I dont know. But to paint one country as Europe is like saying weed has been legalised all over the states.

I don't think you mentioned anything that couldn't be handled better by a private company.

Dude, I may be off... What's a good example of government run "anything" that's better than private?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Actually no.. privatisation has always ended in higher cost and lower service

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Really? Like FedEx or UPS? Housing? Airports? Water? Aren't you glad the government doesn't grow your food? Or make cars?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Don't get me wrong, I'm not crazy about private police forces etc. But maybe you can give me exampkes

Water and power in Australia was privatised in the last 10 years. Result is poorer service and far far more expensive.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Really? It's always been private in America. The water quality has to meet government standards, but the taste is really dependant on region

Yea all of which is regulated by the government; there’s also the USPS, HUD, FAA, fda and a little thing called subsidies

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, the USPS which needs to be constantly bailed out, and provided the worst service possible until UPS and FedEx provided competition.
