In Poltava region, Ukraine, a 35 years old worker of the poultry farm tried to carry out 110 chicken eggs in a specially made jacket. He was stopped by the poultry farm security and handed over to the police.
The enterprising man sewed over a hundred inside pockets to his own jacket , in which he put the eggs he wanted to steal.

Now the man is being interrogated by the law enforcement officers.
Judging by the price of eggs (on average 27 UAH per ten eggs) before the Easter, he could have illegally earned about 300 hryvnias if he had thought to sell the stolen goods.

"the poultry farm security", a thing I never knew would exist.

Inventive .. he can sell it on eBay to pay for court fees

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's got to be pretty bad in a country where stealing eggs is lucrative.

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

"Dude, you wanna buy some premium eggs?"

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Imagine him falling down lmao

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm really concerned about this....he's smuggling chicken eggs? Not guns or drugs or anything like that, eggs. Chicken eggs.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Sir, are you aware you have 110 eggs in your jacket?". "Yes" - guy. 'Okay, carry on...they're each under 3.4 ounces." - TSA security

$11.47 USD. Looked it up.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thats $$11 USA in eggs, folks, for him and his family to survive... *Ah-hem* most of America needs a reality check here

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't understand, eggs? Are these chicken eggs? How is this smuggling? WTF is "poultry farm security"?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So the guy stole 10 dozen eggs....and I'm seeing it on fp.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Did he check those eggs as a carry on? "Yes, I wish to put some eggs in the overhead bin."

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So, what is this in real money? Like 1.75$?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This poor guy. Imagine the desperation.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

To be fair, stealing from the workplace is a custom deeply rooted in history there. It's viewed as the common man's revenge over the bosses.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you for the clarification. Makes much sense.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I love that egg theft is enough of a problem that "poultry farm security" is a thing.

WTF is "poultry farm security"?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Uhh wat? That just means security guards working at the farm, any large farm has them, especially of there is a store on site

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Uh, egg smuggling is a crime? My mom is going to be in so much trouble. She gives me a couple dozen eggs a month.

Thank fucking God I don't live in eastern europe.

8 years ago | Likes 74 Dislikes 1

it ain't that bad! Def better than the U.S. Plus he wanted to gain extra money by selling them& i guess it happens in every big factory

You are literally retarded.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

BUT but I live in eastern Europe :(, it is not that awful, right? ... right? Now I'm sad...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But what if you saved up money, and then moved there? You could love like a king.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

But who will be my love queen?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Live like one too! Also, on a more serious note, not as bad as it's made out to be.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Not really. Expensive cars/apartments are relatively similar price to western standards. There's just a huge gap between rich and poor there

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

remember eurotrip? "a nickel! I will start my own restaurant!"

Hotel*

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I accidental did something like that, it's a shit deal unless you are completely vane.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You get lots of attention and brownnosing from the golddiggers and people who in general need favors.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

But you get to the point where you don't trust anyone. Oh and nothing is made locally and the market for imported goods sucks.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

So your standards of life are still lower than what it would be in the west.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

That is the most depressing thing I will read all day. I cant imagine a world where I would have to put so much effort into finding food 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I don't understand. He has eggs.....it's a crime? Why does he need to smuggle eggs?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"Sir, open your your jacket. Eggs! I knew it....you have eggs! You're under arrest."

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

...he would have been better off stealing a hen, that would lay him eggs. 2/2

I wonder if this telling of his desperation, stupidity, or the relative poverty of the US

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 6

Please be dumb enough to think that's how exchange rates work.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Relative poverty *to* the US, didn't notice the autocorrect in time.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

This is Ukraine. Also really cheap eggs. Jesus

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Sorry, that was supposed to be "relative poverty TO the US" hence the low exchange rate.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That seems about equivalent to prices here..?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1
