Found out at 9:00 am this morning, everyone but execs laid off to avoid bankruptcy. Saw it coming about a month ago and started applying. Sent in an application for my dream job. Received an email shortly after 9:00 pm tonight inviting me for an interview. I couldn't be happier!

::Edit::
OMG Most viral?! You guys are amazing! For those of you asking, the position is a Wedding Planner with a big event company. I've always loved helping people plan their big day and the joy they have when everything is complete is incredible. Thank you all for your support! The interview is on Wednesday and I will update as soon as I can!!

::Second Edit::
Interview was today! Wound up being two hours long as the gentleman I met with spoke with me for an hour and we hit it off. He then brought in the Wedding Director (I'm interviewing for a Wedding Coordinator position, so this person would be my direct supervisor) and she and I had a similar discussion. They must have liked me because they then brought in the CEO to meet me. The first two interviews were great, but my nerves were fried by the time the CEO came in. Apparently I came off a bit nervous. After the CEO left the initial interviewer told me he would let the CEO know I was nervous (not sure if that's good or bad). Overall I think it went well, but it all boils down to what the CEO says.

tl;dr - Interview turns into three interviews, nerves kicked in during last interview. Now we wait.

I'm wishing you well and nail that interview.

There's an old school way of thinking that's still alive in corporate America that all the employees are the ones fucking the company.

Just remember, the leather couch will feel a bit sticky, ignore it. Focus on the finish line and relax your jaw.

cut off the head to save energy for the organs... sound logic.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 7

Execs often aren't the "head." They are usually the "tapeworm."

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

Funny how that never happens.

Time for socialism

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

My own hospital employer is making cuts. Their multimillion salaries were published in the newspaper- if they each took a 10% pay cut...

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yet they point to nursing a physician salaries as costing them too much

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Someone has to stay around and sell off inventory and finish all the paperwork.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

thought the same thing.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

But then who would earn all the money?

8 years ago | Likes 69 Dislikes 1

@@op duh smh

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Earn?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Execs planned it from the beginning. Trim off fat, maintain their positions and salaries and keep the company afloat, just.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Exactly whats happening in my currenr company. Admins on <£20k going, execs on £100k+ staying.

remember to send a thank you letter after your interview,

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Praying for you (prepares for anti-religous comments and getting stoned like Chris Pratt)

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Though I'm not super religious, I fully appreciate the prayers! Thank you!!

Lay off everybody but execs? Who's gonna do the actual work? Who are they supposed to manage?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Hire people at minimum wage, complain that no Americans are skilled, then get H1B or outsource the work?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Could they theoretically try to sell the company and cash out and use that money to retire?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Depends who the owner is.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Because that would be a horribly selfish thing to do :(

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

if the interview involves a couch and a camera... run

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

Nah you stay and you own that fucking interview.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

...in to that office and give it the good 'ol college try!

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

What exactly do you think is his dream job?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

i guess we'll never know

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wedding Planner, and a girl :)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It would be nice if for once execs took a pay cut to save a company. Good luck for your interview!

Bill Ford went 5 years w/out pay when Ford was in trouble. http://www.campdenfb.com/article/bill-ford-awards-himself-salary-first-five-years

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ha! It would be nice, but they would never even think of it. Thanks!!

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 2

Remember to send a thank you email. I only just learned of those lately from imgur

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I seriously don’t know where execs come from. Like, we’re they never in an entry level job?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In this case, no. My entire exec team started the company and have never been in an entry level job in their lives.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nail that shit, OP!
