Since these are back, tales from a security contractor

Why did I get into it? Cause while I was still in the service, crazy psycho bitch ex girlfriend cheated on me many times while I was deployed even though we had a daughter together. After leaving the service I tried to gain custody over my little one. Many months in court later, she still won and I was broke, homeless, suffering from PTSD, and had nowhere else to go until an old friend offered me a job working in private security.

Eh, nothing much to say about this. If I'm on a job I do said job, I get it done then I go home. If I'm not doing a job but still going to work, I still have my regular working days in which I don't really do much other than training, paperwork, and other boring things.

This was early on when I started working in the business and they didn't really know where to put me. So for about a year they had me on probation and trails for small jobs like this one where I wouldn't have to do much other than look tough and carry a gun.

I was doing a security detail on the front gates of a shipping compound when some guy that clearly didn't work here wanted to enter the area. He notices me come out from the corner to approach him and see my sidearm. He then asks if they're actually real, and wants me to prove it to him. I told him that the only way this would end for him is if he went back to where he came from, or I would detain him for questioning. He left.

Doing patrols on a shipping compound with K-9 unit, long and boring work that never seems to end. Then one day the dog picks up a scent inside one of the shipping containers, while it was locked, we have permission to break it open if there is something suspicious inside them. We found a pimped out Mercedes SUV with armored reinforcements, bulletproof glass and tires, this thing was decked out for god knows what. We found about 200 kgs (440 lbs)of cocaine all inside the car. We handed it all to INTERPOL of course, and they launched an investigation blah blah blah.

Being a bodyguard is whatever, in my experience quite a few of the VIPs can be assholes to you. But, sometimes they're nice, like this kid. Lets call him Billy. Billy was a good kid, always said hello and smiled at us, he actually made the job worthwhile.One day Billy asks if he can see my sidearm and asks if I can play with it cause it looks cool. While I had to say no to Billy, he didn't care, he just responded with "That's cool, I bet I can run faster than you."

This chick, lets call her Sarah, was really nice to me everyday I came in. We spoke and flirted from time to time, seemed really nice and I quite enjoyed her company while I was there. When she heard that I would be leaving, she bought coffee and donuts for me as a goodbye gesture.
People like Sarah and Billy actually make me look forward to going to work in the morning, even though I'm doing the same shit day in and day out.

Yes, there is a lot of paperwork to fill out believe it or not. You take a job and finish it, you have to write detailed reports about it. Many hours of overtime were spent in my office with a pot of coffee and my rubber ball. I got pretty good at bouncing it around my office too.

9.

Female coworker, lets call her Jane, got really pissed when the VIP started being sexist towards her just because he didn't think she could do a "man's job". Jane is actually one of the best shooters in my division and the only one on my team that had advance medical training. While me and the other contractors knew the VIP had it coming to them when they called Jane a bitch. But putting him in a headlock cost the company some money seeing is how the VIP tried to sue.
