Well so much for that pastry you wanted

That's a big ass rat

choosy rat

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

AFAIK, Rats didn't carry the bubonic plague, their lice and tics did, i don't think either will go for pastry.

That, @OP, is disturbing. Have a lovely day :)

No respect for ratatouille and the admiration for his work

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Bold rat.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Its like ratatouille but with more diarrhea

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

...but it's so much WORSE than that. First you realize there's a rat on the food.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

...then you have to realize he's been there frequently enough to HAVE a favorite.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Then you have to question your taste if you ate the ones even the rat doesn't want.

Ratatouille, part 2: Patisserie!!

6 years ago | Likes 356 Dislikes 1

It means the food’s great, they have a ratatouille on staff

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Coincidentally, I bet this is actually in Paris.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

No.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ratisserie.

Not sure this is an underrated comment, but it sure is a comment.

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

What is Remy up to this time?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

to be fair it's not the rat that gives you the plague

6 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 3

?noredirect

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Yeah, that makes it better. Don’t pick on the rat.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

It's not the rat's fault plague bearing fleas get on it. It's not like it can run out to the supermarket and get flea shampoo.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Then they will never move up in the dominance hierarchy.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Shut it down!

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

I don't think a butt funnel is gonna save this place.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Was at a venue the other day and saw a mouse hop in a cabinet with their coffee mugs. Had been there a while and they just shrugged...

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

(Lots of poop, pee, and mouse smell when I opened the cabinet)

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Remy, NO.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Remy yes?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Flies on the tables too

6 years ago | Likes 114 Dislikes 0

Yeah this bakery is an absolute train wreck

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Or roaches

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There’s not much you can do about flies in the summer time. But the rat is a HUUUUGGGEEEE problem

6 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

flies were nuckin futs at a deli I used to work at in summer, hard to keep em out when the door opens every minute

6 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Also not much you can do about mice/rats. The concern should be whether it's an infestation and how the owner decides to deal with it.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 10

That’s not true. I work in a Greggs in uk if we see 1 mouse or rat inside the shop we have to close immediately and call pest control

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Yes. That would be a good way to deal with it. I'm saying it's impossible to keep mice/rats out of most places, but especially restaurants.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Well, I’ve worked in the store for 3 years and the only pest I’ve seen is ants in the summer. I don’t think it’s at all impossible

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

More than a single pest, what matters, again, is whether it's an infestation, and what steps the owner takes to mitigate it.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

We are told one single mouse or rat, or ‘several’ cockroaches we close the shop. It’s on a big poster in the office. I’ve never seen any tho

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Smeared god knows what on the glass partition too.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Where is this?

6 years ago | Likes 54 Dislikes 2

Probably Paris

6 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 3

It sounds like its from the Philippines. Pastries look like it too. Those orange trays too.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Really? You are mom? Is Dread Zeppelin really your mom, Smelly Mcsmellerface?

6 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 2

I’d be ok with Dread Zeppelin being my mom. Those guys rock!

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You have been adopted. (don't tell sellymcsellerface but you're my favourite)

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cool. Just call me Little Baby Elvis Jackson.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

...I think that's evident by the fact you made ol Smelly take his father's surname. Really just piling it on that kid huh?

Toronto, that you?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Let me tell you guys a secret. You probably already eat tons of mice/roach droppings. They're EVERYWHERE in food service.

6 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 5

6 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Sadly alot of places are super slack about not clearing up food. Rats are just eco warriors trying to recycle that waste, diligent raiders

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In Denver, restaurants don't have to put up their inspection certificates, so you don't know if they are compliant or not, to what degree.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But the high altitude also prevents most larger roaches, though not rats - you rarely see rats in Denver. Not like in lower elevations.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's why I eat people. Well, that and the sex.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Best to just remember that we were cavemen for millions of years and managed to survive just fine eating dirt and crap.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

I mean, I get it. But we also ARENT cavemen anymore and have much better and healthier lives BECAUSE we dont eat crap (as much)

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Sure, try to minimize the amount of feces one ingest. Just don't lose any sleep over it. You'll be fine.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If cavemen are so great, why they're dead?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

"just fine" is quite the exaggeration considering the changes in life expectancy and lack of all those endoparasites cavemen had

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

and antibiotics.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It’s entirely possible to run a restaurant where the vermin stay outside the building. That’s the standard and anything below is sub-par.

6 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 1

Sure, now enforce that law in the 50 restaurants per block of any big city. Good luck. Even health inspectors allow a little haha

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Let's not shop there and also maybe call the Health Inspector.

6 years ago | Likes 1234 Dislikes 0

They probably got a perfect score.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My friend called the store in he works at, they were forced to shut down for 2 months and throw out $60k of merchandise.

6 years ago | Likes 65 Dislikes 1

60k of bad merchandise.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, but’s that’s the special ingredient

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maybe the rat baked all that and was just inspecting.

6 years ago | Likes 88 Dislikes 0

I would be almost as mad if a human baker was walking on and licking the the pastry to "inspect them" :)

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a health inspector. Yes please call.

6 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 0

How does one become a health inspector. I've not seen a degree in this field.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Public safety, public health, biology. Hell there are even food service/ restauranteur degrees nowadays. Most would apply.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hmm, I think that or even a job as a food critic would be super cool. I'm going for cyber though.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

To be fair, rats enjoy pastries as much as humans

6 years ago | Likes 180 Dislikes 2

Also to be fair, rats never started a world war....

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fair is fair

6 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Seeing a rat hold and eat French Toast Crunch cereal... it’s the cutest thing ever.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

To be faaaaiiirrrrr.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Fine i'll have 2 plague cakes and a rat dropping doughnut

6 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 0

With surprise raisins!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

...and dont skimp on the droppings! Last time there were only droppings on half!

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

All the rats you can eat? We have a deal..

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That assumes I want anything from that store after seeing that.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah I'll need a bit more than that

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

"Ok, we'll throw in a 10$ gift card to starbucks!"

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I got a better idea. I'll take 20$ store credit from the store up the road please
