We adopted a thing that came with things. Caution: sadness

Two months ago we rescued a 6 month (Rajah: orange) and a 1 year old (Simba: grey). They are like our kids. They are so full of energy and love it's incredible. They are crazy curious and love boxes, strings, and mouse toys.

They wait for us by the door every day and cuddle up at night. When we rescued them, they were not together, but instantly fell in love with each other. They play and lick each other (and us) constantly.

Two weeks after we brought them into our family, we found out Rajah (orange) had an ear infection. We then gave her medications, flushed her ears, cleaned them, etc. It seemed routine, but the problem didn't go away over the next month and a half. $1000 later, we find out she has a trifecta of all 3 possible ear infections with a possibility of more (not to mention a heart murmur). The vet is trying to use a culture to find a way to kill them currently. Results will be in next week.

If this doesn't fix the issue, we will have to take her to a cat dermatologist to inspect and complete procedures on her ears adding up to about another $2,000 in costs. If that happens, we may reluctantly may not be able to keep her. We our finding every way we can to keep her in our family. I didn't post this to ask anyone for anything, just to share this brave little tiger's story. She makes us so happy and we love her to pieces. People may say animals are expensive and take up a lot of your time, but trust us. It's always worth it.
