Kids and adults gaming is pure awesome! But I'd suggest installing Python, and starting coding classes. There's self paced classes online. Gaming is fun, but coding can help lift your community. I'd be willing to get on zoom and answer questions on coding. Ive been a software engineer for 20 years

Yemen? Damn. They just lost their Prime Minister along with the cabinet. Please stay safe, y'all.

The gift of gaming :)

Love it!

Don't bend the motherboard!

1 year ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 2

Shouldn’t be touching the pins of the graphics card whilst not ESD strapped either.

1 year ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 3

Genderbender. Thats how fatherboards are made.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I thought they had a completely different technological lineage, from Apokolips instead of New Genesis

The motherboard seems mirrored in the picture somehow. A side effect of taking a selfie?

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Was abou to say it could be a Dell motherboard (because dell does that so you cannot upgrade), but the text on the box is also mirrored.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not to mention the EVGA GTX 1070 is also mirrored (I owned that same card, it still sits in its box as my backup GPU)

Yeah, man!

Love to see happy faces.

Post on r/k12sysadmin? I know the schools I work for scrap/disposal 100 of PC, Laptops, iPads and Chromebooks every summer. I scrapped out 75 this summer.

Yeah, awesome stuff! Good luck with the Internet cafe!!

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's great, but don't touch hardware like that.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Dude that is awesome. Make sure to get a baseball bat in case someone tries to run off with it

Weird thing to say

Moe Cronin approves.

It's for an internet cafe, fair call to protect your stuff from sticky-fingered customers...idk what business insurance looks like in Yemen, but you won't need to make as many claims on it if you've got ol' slugger behind the counter.

Thieves are afraid of baseball, everyone knows that

1 year ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I mean, it's in the game. What did everyone think "home run" meant?

EA Sports

That card should run the majority of current games out right now. Not comparatively but good enough to have fun.

Should note that the 10 series shown here will no longer be supported after the 580 driver series ends...

I still keep my 1070ti around, it rocks

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm still using my 2070 super which isn't that much more powerful than a 1070 and it runs everything I want to in 4k without any issue

1 year ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

I'm still running a R9 390x and I'm only just now having trouble running brand new games.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

RX 590 here. Not gamer but I use Fluid Motion to watch videos

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Recently replaced mine after 8 years to play S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, first game I wanted that just couldn't cut it.

If whatever you are doing doesn't require tensor cores or rtx, the 1070 slightly outperforms 3050 in raw performance. Basically the 10 series cards are still perfectly usable. most gains have been towards efficiency, newer instruction sets, and av1 encoding

Yep. I have a 1080 rtx running Elden Ring just fine. Waiting on a new game worth the $2000 video upgrade.

More than anything, cards get aged out because they stop being supported. My card has the horsepower to run anything currently out, but it can't because the games don't like it.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

There are still old drivers you can use. If your card is so old that it has no official driver support anymore, it definitely does not have "the horsepower to run anything currently out".

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm running an R9 390x. There has been no official driver support as of 2021. I've been playing Space Marine 2 with no issues. This past year is the first with any major problems, predominantly because the games don't even start because they don't recognize the card (STALKER 2) and occasionally because they're optimized like crap (Clair Obscur).

Lol. That is a card from 2015 barely on par with a GTX 1060. There's a reason TechPowerUp doesn't include GTX 1080 Ti and RTX 20-series in their 1080p benchmarks anymore. You are delusional if you think you can run 2025 tech games with that card. MGS Delta is barely playable with 27.6 average FPS with an RTX 3060 in 1080p Ultra. A card roughly twice as powerful as your card.

I've got a 1050Ti myself, can confirm it works well enough. It also helps that the kinds of games I prefer to play tend to be CPU limited anyway.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hell yea, I'm still rocking a 1070ti, it handles everything just fine. 1080 only, that's my monitor.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’m still using mine 8 years later. Great card!

1 year ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 0

I just upgraded to it! From 970.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm using an RX580 8Gb and it runs everything i need it to just fine. 1070 is supposedly better than that, so.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm still using the 1060 and haven't had any reason to upgrade since I got it 7 years ago

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same here, using it with an old school Oculus Rift.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was still using a 1080... until last year. Because Indiana Jones and the Great Circle outright refuses to launch without a card that supports raytracing, even if I didn't plan on using it.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I swapped out to play Horizon Forbiden West last year......to a 2060 Super, so not too much of an upgrade

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's how they get ya

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's annoying. But I'd been considering upgrading for a while and that was the last push I needed. The Vatican level was absolutely amazing. But my interest slowly petered out during the Gizeh level. Too much running around there.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I misinterpreted this at first as “Vatican level” graphics card
