Update Time

I have not had to take any pain meds since Friday so all in all I felt minimal pain and discomfort for roughly a week.

Today was my 2nd post-op update with the plastic surgeon. Healing is going well! They removed the derma-film dressing bandage thing and removed the drains (which was a weird sensation). I still have to keep my binder on for at least a week and the openings from the drains will close in a few days. I go back on 12/20. Woo hoo, I'm glad the drains are out! They were such an annoyance.

Today was also my post-op report at the breast surgeon's office. The pathology report came back:

4 out of 13 lymph nodes were positive. The margins were CLEAR! There was some residual cancer on the skeletal muscle but they got that too; just in case, radiation is still in my treatment plan. I have a recheck in 3 months :)

I meet with the radiation oncologist the afternoon of 1/3. I hope radiation is as smooth as everything else lol.

I also have to see an occupational therapist, but where and when is TBD.

I also stopped by my oncologist's office today and got my next Lupron shot (last one was supposed to be 11/22 which ended up being surgery day). I see her again the morning of 1/3.

I keep forgetting it's December because I live in the South these days and am no longer in the snowy east coast areas. There are still plenty of green trees. My birthday is on the 15th! Nymeria's birthday is also on the 15th! So I will include a wishlist here if anyone would like to send a gift. Honestly it's mostly dog stuff and I don't expect the human stuff as they're expensive (I'm sorry).
