Today I went to my local commissary (grocery store for military families). There were two lines, 20 items or less and 20+ items. I only had a few things to get for my family, last minute groceries that would have been purchased with or without the beginning of the quarantines. I was appalled at some of these families that were there. Buying 7 or 8 boxes of diapers (~180 count each) and boxes of wipes. Leaving so many families without. I understand the fear, the worry for your loved ones. But I have seen parents PLEADING on facebook for one pack of wipes, diapers, and formula. But everywhere they go, they are sold out. So please, don't buy and resell (pieces of shit). Don't buy more than you KNOW you will need.

Check on your neighbor, wash your hands, don't go licking people, tp someone's house (it's acceptable now), or just don't leave your house!

The only people with carts like this should be the over 65's who should stock up and stay home for a few months.

Can anyone explain why people are buying so much bottled water?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah yeah we know

Stores are allowed to enforce a maximum of purchases. I dont get why they do that for essentials

Selfishness. Entitlement. Just plain ugly.

They’re not really buying water; just donating to the oil companies for the plastic, last forever, bottles.

Who made you Judge Judy and Executioner?

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 15

Well Judge Judy is over now, I could apply for her position. Plus I killed a bug a few hours ago....so I guess I'm halfway there?

Must have been bad timing for a really good joke. You deserve more updoots for that. +1

Holy crap. Just realized this thread is 10 months old. How did it get to FP?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Figured it out. I took a detour off FP. My bad. My comments stand though.

That's something a guilty hoarder would say

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Guilty of whoring, maybe.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 7

That’s maternal

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Was that a deliberate typo or do you actually think that's the phrase? It's hard to tell who is being sarcastic or actually dumb recently.

It's a quote from Hot Fuzz.

Quite surprised that nobody in the US has been shot because of toilet roll! 1 thing this shows is that globally, people today are selfish!

And a knife fight

Give it a couple more weeks. Be patient. It’s gonna happen.

America is not globally. You’ll see many places where this has been a minor issue and stopped fairly fast

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are you American?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am not no?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I assumed you were to think that when the word global was used it referred to just Americans.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well I did actually say globally did not mean only America. I might’ve written it wrong tho but was what I ment ?

hope they get a peptic ulcer or something >:(

It's called the free market. If you can get it cheap and sell at profit, well there you go. No law was broken.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 10

I don't care if it's legal or not, it's an immoral, appalling thing to do. You're exploiting people and kicking them while they're down.

Welcome to America.

False. Most states have laws prohibiting price gouging in emergencies. Many gougers will be prosecuted.

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Gouging applies to point of sale in most states, not resale. As well, most determine what is considered gouging by precent; leaves room.

If you check the numbers in that article, it sounds like he made a huge profit.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Betcha he made enough profit that the excess didn't kill his RoI.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Read this article. Some gougers have already been visited by investigators! One douchecanoe has 17,000+ hand sanitizers he cant sell now.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Did. How many did he sell before he got delisted? Amazon and eBay aren't the only way to sell. Just stay below your state's gouge %.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

He made 30k in profit or more. Another guy who was smart enough to ask his full name be withheld had already made 100k.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There ya' go. Even if they'd been mindful of the gouging percents, they likely still would stand to make huge profit.
