If you have even scales: one side has 100 1oz weights, the other has 1 100oz weight. If you take the one weight off, the scale collapses to the other side. Consolidating/Consolidation does not seem to be a fiscally responsible option here. I’m no expert, although I did take an AP Micro/Macro Economics class in HS (I didn’t fail the class)
