Backup Secret Santa Comes through big time!

I was one of the unlucky folks to not get a gift from my original Secret Santa. I followed through and let @martynmage know about the unfortunate situation. I was lucky enough to be assigned a backup and on January 10th my backup Secret Santa contacted me to ask about my interests. After some messages back and forth, keeping me informed about where they were in the process, I got a message this past Wednesday that the package had been sent. Today it finally arrived! I'm basically Ron Swanson when it comes to bananas so I used an apple for scale.

Looks like I've got some work to do! I was really excited so I started the un-boxing process.

Everything all laid out.

11 sets of Mardi Gras bead necklaces! I'm all set if I decide to make the trip down to Louisiana for Mardi Gras this year lol. More likely the kids will have fun playing with them all weekend. Most were just plain beads but one had a small shot glass attached, one had a cool little saxophone and one had a little Leprechaun Face and was from Crichton, AL. My Secret Santa's home town perhaps???

One of my primary interests is the outdoors. I love going camping and hiking. I usually go a few times a year with my wife and kids and a few times with friends. This next gift was a really cool set of extendable roasters for hot dogs or marshmallows. These will definitely get some serious use. I love that they collapse down for easier storage and transport. They even came with a cool carrying case and mini flashlight.

2 paracord bracelets with built in compass and 2 sets of compression sleeves for hiking in warm weather. These will be awesome to keep my arms cool and free of scrapes or scratches when camping or hiking in t-shirts during warm weather trips. Another very cool gift.

A set of 4 mini, collapsible, LED lanterns. I literally just bought myself a very similar one of these last week! This is perfect. Now when I go camping with the family, everyone can have their own personal lantern. Lightweight, compact and color coded so everyone knows which one is theirs. I love em!

Life Straw

This little guy can filter 264 gallons of water over it's lifespan. Super lightweight and perfect for solo hiking trips if you don't want to carry heavy liquids and you know there are streams in the area.

Some of the other interests I listed were the NY Yankees and Star Wars. These next 2 gifts are really cool because my Secret Santa managed to find the perfect gifts to combine both of those loves. One of these guys is going up at my desk at work. The kids have already claimed the other 3 lol.

A really cool hanging flag of Yoda. This one will almost certainly end up hanging in my older son's room. He's a serious ball player and almost as big of a Star Wars fan as I am so he'll really appreciate this one.

Snacks! 10 assorted mini moon pies. I haven't had one of these for probably 25 years. I'm pretty sure these are popular down south. Alabama again perhaps??? I had to hide the chocolate ones before the kids got home from school. I know what their after school snack will be today!

The entire haul in all it's glory! @macbrews Thank you so much. You knocked this one out of the park for sure! Everything was great and I promise you it will all get plenty of use. I'd also like to thank @martynmage once again for all his hard work and dedication to the Secret Santa event. Especially for doing his very best to make sure people like me, who missed out originally, were given a chance to have a great experience like this and share it with the rest of the imgur community.
