A day in the life

I live in a small city on the outer edge of a much larger city in the midwestern U.S. I live in the older part of the city and can walk to pretty much anything except work.

It was a freezing morning on top of the snow from yesterday's storm which led to some pretty cool steam off the river in town and fog around the area. I spend alot of time in the car and travel between buildings when I am at work, so audio books are a constant for me. I've been into early 20th century history books recently.

I hate driving 20 miles to work but I do like the different things I can see on my drive to work. I see cityscape, farmland, parks, and suburbia.

I often bring my bike to work and take a ride after work. There is a pretty awesome mountain biking trail near my office that I use regularly along with a bike trail that used to be a train line.

At work, I spend most of my time these days troubleshooting software issues and planning tech updates and professional development for the next school year. I call my office my hole. It is really an old closet hidden behind an old industrial technology classroom, but it holds the stuff I use for work. I have my workstation, a small mobile podcasting studio, greenscreens, and an AR sandbox that projects topographic maps onto the sand that move with the sand. I use these for different lessons throughout the year but they are all torn down right now because of social distancing restrictions.

after dinner a trip downtown for hot chocolate (for the kid) and groceries. I live a pretty boring life and spend lots of time in the car, but hey, why not share?
