Poor abandoned dog (Happy ending!) 

A couple found this poor dog (later named Powder) near a boat ramp in the everglades. As you can see, he looks to be in bad shape. These nice people were soon busy trying to find help for this dog.

Broward County Sheriff's Department was contacted, and were able to send help. You can see the poor dog reacts to people trying to help it

The dog was in bad shape, but the deputies were determined to help. After a little coaxing, they were able to gain his trust.

While finally able to stand up, it was quickly determined the poor dog would not be able to walk, and so they carried him to their car.

In the morning light, the extent of his injuries can start to be seen. I did not include a few of the more graphic pictures, but this poor guy was not in good shape.

The deputies contacted Second Chance Animal Rescue, in Boca Raton, who agreed to help out. Here you can see how thin he is, but at least he's standing!

Lookin better! In addition to mange, which was all over his body, Powder received surgery and treatment for some eye problems as well.

Still lookin a little sad, but quite comfy on the couch!

Just chillin at the animal rescue facility on his bed. As he got better, Powder gained 15 pounds, and started looking more like his true self.

Time to socialize! Powder was taken to events to help socialize him with people and puppies, in preparation for adoption one day.

This looks like a happy puppy now. All he needs is a place to call home for good.

Thats it! The last update from the Rescue facility was back in November 2016 that Powder was going up for adoption. Some lucky family out there got the bestest boy for their new puppy :)
