I want to (literally) pick one of these up. I've heard people say that the grip is much more comfortable than it looks.

They are very nice to hold. The trigger action is very smooth as well. All in all it's probably the best handgun I've ever owned.

i love the look contrary to many opinions ive heard. but i am more interested to know how well it handles recoil with that low barrel.

All that comes to mind is trigun and if this form is actually functional.

It's actually very functional. Because it fires from the bottom of the cylinder, recoil goes back into your arm instead of snapping back...
