A Sincere Post From a Brazillian About The Olympics

So I Saw This Post In FrontPage Yerstaday...

...And i feel very sorry about it. I even thought of changing my username out of shame, but after a second thought, i decided to keep it. No one should ever, EVER, have to hide it's oringins, it's even more important now to be remembered of that with all those refugee issues. Even so, i don't feel everything my country does is right (and you also should not think so). The booing was a pitty example of unsportsmanship behavior and it's a characteristics of brazillian people being LOUD, and we would boo him even is it was two of us among a thousand of then, we can't just keep emotions for ourselves, even in places it's we're suposed to. But...

...The Frenchman also got carried by his emotions.

No, i'm not blamming him, and yes, i know everyone would be (except maybe ourselves, we're have a saying/meme that says "Se me atacar eu vou atacar" or "if you attack me, I'll attack") completely out of their minds. But the brazillian guy had already broke a olympic record that day and the french was tryng to break it too, i know the booing just make things worse, but it was a hard thing to do to say at least. Soo when he didn't make it he called us Nazi's, comparing the rio olympics with the Berlin one, something completely out of context and a very missfortunate comment. Even so, the man said he's sorry and asked for forgiveness, and now it's time for a brazillian to say it, I beg you perdon Renaud Lavillenie.

But Why We Boo Peoples?

Well, in Brasil the most wide spread sport is football (sorry americans, it's not soccer :) ), and it's a low-score game, how it's not unlikely to high-skill games end with 0x0 scores. Most of the goals are scored when the adversary team does something wrong, a bad counter-attack or a flawlled defense, so as wrong it may look like, but you not only have to wish your team to win, you have also to wish the other team to lose. Anyone how already watched a game decided by penalty kicks know what i'm talking about.

Now Something About The Olynpics Itself

Well, as you guys might know, Brasil ins't in it's best moments. Ours economy's slowing down. We have to deal with the zica virus, how got us by surprise, as it came here form another tropical country (and right now is under control, as the "cold" of the winter ins't the best time for mosquitoes go lovey-dovey). Our polict scenario is a mess right now, the president isn't supported by the country, and some cuold even say that he only got there by a coup d'etat (Michel Temer yo fucko), through the impeachment of Dilma Rousseff. We didn't want the olympics, at least not right now, we just had the World Cup how cost too much for a country with soo many things to get right. We portested, we fighted, but in the end we lost, and the olympics did happen. But we're brazillians after all, soo even trough we didn't want a party, if we were forced to have one, at least we'll party hard. And it has been pretty fun until now, If you guys want i can make "A day in the Life of a brazillian guy in the olympics" post.

And two more things before i end this post:

First, I Saw That Imgur Got Up In Arms Against Brasil....

....And it scare the heck out of me that to get to front page you just have to say that you hate a country or a group of people. Look at the first comment, i know that's just a joke, but it's damn serious joke, it's just show how easy it's to hate someone just because everyone is hating then. I don't want to be hated because of something i didn't do and didn't had a choice in and ultimately is not wrong in itself, and every other group of people that suffers prejudice can say the same thing. Soo even through i'm not in a position to ask for you guys to stop the booing, i just ask you to not make it more than a rivalry thing, as t's for us. We're all just different people triyng to get together, and sometimes it will not go that smooth;

Second: Don't Think That You Can Do What You Want In Rio...

....Because you won't get away with it. Don't think just beacause we're a third world country we will believe in everythong you guys says. Those people in the camera are american swimmers how made up a story about being robbed by brazillian cops. Turns out they vandalized a gas station and are asked for monetary compensation for the things they broke and tought that it was a good idea to say to the media that they were robbed. They not only did little of us, but also trashed the image of the city even more, and that's something that can't be easily fixed. Soo as with the booing, we need mutual respect, Brasil might not look that different like India or China, but we still another country that have our own cuture.
