Legality, probably. You want to have evidence that you did not do the abuse to the animal.

1/2 It's not sad, everyone's fighting the same battle but on different fronts. Cruelty to animals or people is equally shitty.
2/2 Plenty of help exists for people, what is lacking is resources because there are more people than animals at this point.

I used to work for PETA...this is why you donate to LOCAL animal charities. They do the work to help individual dogs. I'm sure they had help
ITryToOnlyRespondInGifs
So....I've heard some not so great things about PETA. Is that why you emphasize "LOCAL" over, say, a big name charity?

Do you make money to live? Or live for money?
I actually just care less about pets than my own well being.

I've never regretted spending money at the vet. Even the stupid old hound was worth every penny I spent

Find a good vet. Ours will do un-necessary test for free just for his peace of mind, and only charge us for stuff he has to pay for.
clarissakaye
I took my dog to an emergency vet once because he ripped a toenail out and I panicked. The vet was dealing with serious life/death stuff (1)
And he actually thanked me for bringing in a "normal" patient for him to have a break. He only charged me for a consultation fee (2)
It was one of the nicest things. He could tell I was panicking and he obviously needed a break. (3)

Sometimes if improving a life that has only known pain, torture, anger, cruelness and etc...money is a small rebuildable resource to pay.
Yea but a new dog is only like.. 100 bucks tops.
Wow, please never have a pet. Holy shit. With that mentality it's obvious that animals, pets even, are expendable to you.
Must be nice to live in your fantasy world where people don't have to genuinely struggle. Of course animals are expendable. Ever eaten cow?
We're not talking about people, even if someone is struggling that doesn't have to render them hardened. As it obviously has to you ??? GL.

Holy shit that's a lot! You should shop around a bit! Removing 3 tumour-filled mammaries plus follow-up for my dog cost me about that!
You need a new vet. I got meds, shots, and a solid diagnosis for $200.
