These are beginner hacks. Try more advanced things. Like, you know that thing do you with Oreos where you take one cookie off of each and combine the frostings? You can do that with whoopie pies.

I still refuse to do it. I feel the icing is overpowering anyway, so I want to have the cupcake bototm by itself first, and then finish with the top with icing.

I've spent most of my life in the US and I can't say I've seen a cupcake in person for probably 15 or more years. I guess if they're your thing you go out of your way for them but I don't feel like they're a common thing in childless adult life.
