reminds me of the live action "Tick" series that Amazon cancelled way too soon. When the Terror knows he's been defeated and is feeling mopey, he sees his assistant drinking a bottle of soda made by one of his front corporations.
"I never told you what the secret ingredient is, did I? I put a drop in every bottle."
She stops drinking and stares at the bottle in horror. "...You put poison in it."
"Nope. Been peeing in it."

#1 imagine being one of the most important war leaders in the first, second, and third ages of middle earth, even staying into the fourth age to protect Lothlorien while every other elf sailed away including your wife and kids... and some punks online be calling you "Galadriel's husband". He's Celeborn, bitch.
CaptainScarfish
#1 Celeborn is a badass in his own right. Very wise, a competent military commander, and even personally led the charge on Dol Goldur (necromancer castle Gandalf dealt with in The Hobbit).
Galadriel is awesome, but this is like calling Vegeta useless just because he's standing next to Goku.
Babomonkey
I was with you up until that last sentence when you seemingly just start inserting names of cracker dips or something idk
CaptainScarfish
Goku and Vegeta are the protagonist and anti-hero of Dragon Ball Z respectively. Depending on which season of the show you're talking about, they're considered two of the strongest fighters in the universe and Goku is usually just a bit stronger than Vegeta.

#10 In the 50s you had options. Either Amphetamine, or Barbiturates (or both at once! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dexamyl )

After Marilyn Monroe died of a barbiturate OD, though, Benzos took the lead. Valium was EVERYWHERE in the 60s-70s.

#1 Celeborn fought against Morgoth himself, later against Sauron, he had a daughter which married Elrond, Arwen is one of his grandchildren ... who writes those uninformed shit-posts?
GoodChange
#1 to make (or repost) that image you show that you know very little about lord of the rings and that you have a very conservative view of gender roles. As if it would be a mark against Celeborn (or any man) that his wife is more famous or stronger. Besides that Celeborn was one of the wisest elves in middle earth, he ruled Lothlorien with his wife, he led armies against Sauron and much much more. He’s thousands of years old and accomplished much in each of the ages of middle earth.
dirtyFrenchman
Or maybe, just maybe… it’s just a shitpost.

#1 Celeborn was an incredibly important figure. Is this purely about powerscaling against Galadriel? Bombadil clears the verse anyway, if he cares (he doesn't)
MisterBambu
you can't just bring up power scaling. surely there must be a tw included or something...?
IFoldlyGo
Even if he didn't have anywhere near the power of Galadriel, he would still provide a calm location for her to relax. She is working against evil in a variety of forms, he would provide a place where there was no evil, no need for work, where she could sleep at peace.
AntiProtonBoy
Yeah that comment was nothing more than a low effort girlboss power fantasy shitpost.

Scrolled straight to the comments and glad to say I wasn't disappointed. The slander! People only know the movie version

The real dig is that Cirdan didn't even show up in those last scenes. Imagine having one of the three rings and just giving it to Gandalf when he showed up: "You're going to need this more"
Galadriel is one of the wisest, most far-seeing, and powerful characters in the legendarium, almost on par with Elrond and Galadriel.

Galadriel is indeed *almost* on par with Galadriel
iRecommendBooks
Def meant to write Celeborn. Not in raw power (that'd be limited to like... Glorfindel, another snub), but in terms of the role he played.
Taxian
Yeah, Celeborn was kind of a badass, particularly in the First Age when he fought in just...all the battles. He also played a major role in the War of the Ring where he and Galadriel defended Lothlorien and eventually led the assault on Dol Guldur. But that all happens way north of where the Fellowship are doing their thing.
ImNotYourHuckleberry
That is true, but even if it wasn't, can you imagine looking down on someone cause his wife is Galadriel?...Men would go to war over a lock of her hair, and he gets to munch on the carpet. "Hey Celeborn, your wife is really cool, man, don't you feel bad?"..."My wife is the coolest man, many consider themselves lucky if they just meet her, while I denethor her tomato whenever we're in the mood".... I think men who are intimidated by successful women are weak and should be fed to the Duras sisters
mothmam
