That dude is big, and in phenomenal shape. It would not surprise me to find out he’s a professional athlete of some kind. Or a personal trainer/instructor.
You know, I was starting to feel good about myself and then I see this. Now all I can think is "I'm 43, overweight and out of shape, what's the fucking point when I see people like this?"
Lived in Colorado and I started climbing the 14ers. Invariably while hiking up some person would run by me wearing trail runners, running shorts and a tank top. Me: hiking boots, three layers, sun hat and walking poles.
Kinda. It helps set your timing and pace, make you keep a minimum height to your foot lifts, encourages specific muscle groups, and yes, some ropes can be weighted, which, while not significantly heavy compared to dumbells, at such a distance from where you hold it and at such enormous reps, can feel very significant.
So, yes, it adds a bunch of things, but no, it doesn't add much weight, strictly speaking.
(Total exercise noob here, more experienced folks, please feel free to correct me!)
Keeping pace likely. Gotta keep the rope going at a certain speed, and the constant coordination would mean focus on that pace which is important for endurance.
dont get me wrong, it is very impressive and im sure it a much longer incline than it looks. look at his feet. having walked with people with our minor hills, most peope walk up hill flat footed and that saps your quickly. even my ex who lived in a mountainous country, did this. if you instead walk on the ball of your foot, it becomes waay easier and much less tiring. same with sand.
it's also ok to recognize that phenoms do exist. I've worked in the vacinity of NFL and MLB players and dood they are big. Like, it's hard to believe how fast they can move.
As a trans woman born into the body of a Norse god. It has its perks and drawbacks. No one fucks with me once I use my deep voice on them but trying to have a conversation about how trans women belong in sports while you’re 6’4” and can palm an average sized persons skull can be rough. Like yeah I shouldn’t be allowed in any combat sport. when I wrestled in high school I accidentally broke a kids humerus and collar bone at the same time. I was a dominant force until that. Was never the same aftr
I know its popular to say this to be funny, but seriously, why cant some guy like the raw power of the physical male form in great shape without having to say its homosexual? I look at guys in great shape too, and man that’s awesome, I want to be more like that again, I wonder how strong he actually is, what all he does to get there, etc. Actually what comes to mind before anything sexual is a little voice "dont look too long or some asshole will say you are gay" from high school..
That isnt an athletic event though its just a steep walking access trail that people use for excercise or just to get to the buildings at the top. Also the person kept filming after the main guy had passed. She might not want to be filmed, or the person holding the camera might have been making a creepy face.
A woman I worked with was hiding from an ex-husband. She is vigilant everyday about a avoiding people recording videos. The wrong person sees her in the background of an influencer at the grocery store and he'll know where she is.
I knew a women like that. She called her ex The Devil. No idea if she was crazy or he was, but there are certainly women who are scared of being filmed because of a stalking ex.
