Blue is a lot closer to gray than red... Also the border is already red because The Empire Strikes Back. Seems legit.

I understand that logic, i was just thinking it would be nice to go with the blue=good red=evil to match the final sign.

Both seem viable, I'm just guessing why they went with that version. Also the borders alternate, they didn't want it to get stale.
