My brother used to dress as Vader and go to the kid's hospital with a bunch of other star wars cosplayers. 50% of the kids were excited to see him, the other 50% were terrified. He said it was an amazing way to be able to scare kids and not get yelled at about it.

Norton was one of my go-tos on YT for some background chatter while doing chores or cooking, but after a while they started cutting down their clips more and more, until you couldn't properly watch the show anymore. So annoying.

Why? It's a well known soft ball format that's existed for years. Whatever got Norton here he hasn't put any work in for a long time. Celebrities know they'll look good and it'll be an easy glad of chardonnay. Those producers do Jack shit but book willing talent. I like some of the clips, but man there is nothing special about it.

It's not hard hitting journalism or deep personal profiles, but it's still interesting to me to wonder how those producers/editors get fun anecdotes out of a guest while the guest themselves seem to have forgotten during interview that anecdote was interesting to air.

Pretty rudimentary research. Call their friends, ask them for a story, bring it up on air. Keep in mind those actors are also acting in their reactions to create more compelling content. I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just saying it's not an awe inspiring format to pull off like the original comment implies.

yes, I find it especially funny when the guest is prompted to tell one anecdote but tells another, and Norton has to prod them "wasn't there something about..."
