Some people reading is probably more controversial because they are reading, no one does that anymore.

R-E-A-D A B-O-Okaayyy

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Calm down people, it's obviously photoshopped.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

My friend is black and he recommended me all the best books back then. Being poor, he said the library was free and get all he wants.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I want there to be a boondocks season 5

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I miss being a child where my feet don't touch the ground

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just because theyre black and reading it should go viral?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why should it go viral? its some people reading books. whoopdeefuckingdoo. people read books every day

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

@s0afna

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why would it go viral? Honestly why is this so uncommon

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

It goes against the harmful narrative of uneducated black people that so many like to believe.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

who is the narrator

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Everyone reads on public transportation, not an unusual sight.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Reminds me of an old couple that would eat at a restaurant i worked at. They would eat, then spend about an hour reading separate books.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Boon Docks taught me well.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I have motion sickness. Reading in a car/bus/plane will make me felt super dizzy.

I wish I was given a medal for a basic function necessary to survive in civilization. /:

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 4

When I was being treated for depression they told us to reward ourselves for any small step even if it was basic for others. Felt weird.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think they're saying make it viral because many people see harmful stereotypes towards black ppl, and this goes against that narrative

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

racism will NEVER end when people like you and OP keep MAKING it about race. its just three people. not "black". theyre PEOPLE. period.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I was just giving a possible reason as to why the person said make it go viral. Also, ignoring race does not solve all race related issues

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

i think it would. treat people with respect and kindness because theyre people. not because theyre a certain color

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Actually happened to me a few days ago

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Well, thanks for reading in public. You're a good role model for my children and it means more to me than you know. Thank you.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I will always up vote boondocks

10 years ago | Likes 371 Dislikes 11

I always upvote "I always upvote" comments

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I always up vote "I always upvote 'I always upvote' comments" comments

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Even the final season the creator wasn't involved with? Cuz that was piss poor.

10 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 0

It wasn't all bad but wasn't as good. Last episode was pretty good though

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't think I actually watched season 4

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Let's keep it that way.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But should it really go viral?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Boobs at the office. Interesting combo.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Who showed them how to read?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

@repoststatistics where are you?!?!

10 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 3

repoststatistics doesn't do multiple images.

10 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Even if it's the same images in the same order?

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

We've found its weakness!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yep

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't care what skin color they have. Seeing a child actually reading is amazing in our current society.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 6

What trains have you been riding? I used to have a 90-minute commute. Just about everyone (on an ~800-person train) had a book or Kindle.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

It depends where you live. I found Texas reading for pleasure wasn't common and some people even bragged about not reading. Culture shock.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not every day you see 3 people in a row reading without electronic device. Unless this is an old picture.

10 years ago | Likes 115 Dislikes 10

It is a repost.....

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In my family it's always my parents on their phones with me reading a book

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I took the bus from Northern Canada to the Southern US and I remember how the further I went the less people were reading. Made me sad. :(

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I ride the bus with my two kids fairly often and we usually read and people stop us and compliment us on it often. Weird but nice.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

i always wondered about that, reading is reading, why is reading off dead trees any difrent from reading off tiny lights?

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

*different

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I find it hard to focus on an ebook, but yeah, judging people for reading ebooks over normal books is dumb. They're cheaper and more compact

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I wasn't judging or anything. Just acknowledging that this is a rare sight.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The reason I picked up ebooks is because of how much more convenient they are. I love printed books but honestly, ebooks are great.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I mean, I do a lot of reading on my phone/tablet, especially scientific papers (I can mark them up easily in-app and change marks if I want)

10 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Which app do you use?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I really like the recording capability for lectures - during playback it also displays your notes tracked with the recording.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Notability. It was on promo when I bought it. Sometimes it messes up formatting for .doc files, but you can write, record, highlight, etc.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I can't rate it against similar apps, as I haven't tried them, but so far (2 years) I've been pretty happy with it. Quite useful.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

is reading from a smartphone somehow bad? Whats the difference?

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I do find that I retain slightly less/need to re-read more often than on paper, and there can be eye strain, but the convenience

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not bad, just more common.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Newspaper says 2006

10 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 2

Jk. Lol, did you look for one?

10 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Even if it's two kindles and an Ipad, what difference would it make? It'd still be two books and a magazine.

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 3

I play games about 10X more on my kindle than I do actual reading. I do still read a lot though.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ironic that a black family acting normal is an actual thing. Let that sink in.

10 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 13

More importantly, a black family acting normal made the front page. Also, don't learn words from female 90's alternative rock stars.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I wouldn't say reading on the subway is normal, most people get carsick. Heck, the lady seems have a textbook.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

id say its fairly normal. I see people reading everyday, they just usually reading something on their phone/tablet.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I get brutallly sick when reading paper books in the bus, but not with e-books. Maybe it'd be the same w/ subway.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

More ironic that this is praising them for being "normal" yet still thugs it down with nigga this, nigga that.

10 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 7

Saying n*gga doesn't automatically "thug it down", whatever that means. Many black people use the word colloquially, doesn't make them thugs

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

It makes them Fucking stupid and part of the problem. How the fuck are people supposed to take you seriously when you cry about racism 1/2

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

But use racist language? Font give me that it's our word shot either, it means one negative thing, period.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Let me "thug it down" for you... Yo nigga , you can't be sayin nigga if yo be tellin otha niggas not to say nigga yo! I'm white though so...

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

It's actually really nice to see that.

10 years ago | Likes 513 Dislikes 26

It took me a bit. I was wondering about the raised arm at first. Had to read comments to get why it should be viral. /crackalack

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I hope you mean that because they're reading and not because they're black

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Is this really so shocking to some people?

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Me and my friends went to a book signing in Chicago once and in the airport on our way back about 6 people made a fuss that we were reading

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This needs to be a more common sight; people reading together.

10 years ago | Likes 78 Dislikes 3

My friend was reading the rules to D&D the other day from the book and he tried to scroll down on the page

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Glad you specified that you weren't talking about people requesting "bewbs" in their inbox

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yep. Just...people...reading.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't they have special buildings for that?

10 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

Nah, libraries are where homeless people go to masturbate and check their Facebook.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

LOL!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nah, the homeless are mostly very nice and appreciative of the AC or heat. Now teens/young adults on the other hand.. fappity fap fap.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

2/2 please stop asking to see my titties. Especially when I am just trying to get new clients for my escort business

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Escort as in chauffeur, or escort as in fancy hooker?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

1/2 Yoyu know, my town has the best books ever, out of anywhere, but there are so many drunk people. Guess it's ok for them to warm up, but

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Usually with books and chairs. Maybe coffee

10 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

wait yours has coffee? Lucky

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why is it ok to take pictures of random people and post them on the internet? Leave me the fuck off your agenda.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 6

If you're in a public place where it would be ok for people to look at you they can take pictures of them.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Freedom?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Specifically freedom of the press.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

because if you're in public you're in public. As long as they arent getting paid from taking your picture i believe its ok.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Even if they're getting paid it's fine. There is no expectation in privacy in public barring upskirt shots and such.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In photography class in college i think they spoke about having to blur out faces if you arent getting permission and profiting for it.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

but i could be wrong.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So we have to hide in our homes if we don't want to be posted on the internet for people to comment on?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Kind of, yeah. People are looking and commenting on you when you go grocery shopping too. Try not to let it get to you. It is what it is.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's shitty. And a few people seeing me vs going viral for something I didn't agree to? Lame. Just bc you can doesn't mean you should.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's correct. Celebrities deal with this all the time.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Celebrities choose to live their lives in the spotlight.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The law doesn't make any distinction between celebrities and others. Did you really downvote me for answering your question accurately?
