Please help end this pointless prohibition.

Sep 9, 2016 5:09 PM

26 states have passed some form of a Marijuana law. Can the federal government just end this pointless prohibition already and make it federally legal? They could regulate the shit out of it, make money from taxes, help people suffering from pain, help end the opioid epidemic and tons of other good reasons. To the front page please!

Dark green states, are the fun states! But you know what happened in WA after it was legalized? NOTHING except a new tax revenue flow.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

No thanks.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

funny how California haven't legalize marijuana yet

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We all really like prop 215. It's more legal than the upcoming legalization bill.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The benefits to legalization outweigh the cons so overwhelmingly it's insane that pot is still a federally prohibited schedule I drug.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

I can tell you this, Nebraska will never allow it until it goes Federal.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Minnesota should have a huuuge asterisk next to them. In that sure, medical pot is legal... for like 4 people.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Canada is taking the euro route. Its illegal to grow and sell lots of it, personal use and growth is okay but still illegalish?.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Iowa technically can have oil but you can't obtain it. It's a really convoluted law that doesn't make sense and doesn't actually help anyone

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lol

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Blerg... Has no one any respect for State's rights anymore? Why in the world would the federal government have anything to do with pot laws?

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

And I'm just sitting here like... I'm having trouble with differentiating the shades... I should go see a doctor. *sigh*

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This would be a perfect post If US government actually cared about public demand. Still a +1

10 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 6

No, its not perfect, the color coding is terrible.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The public demands the right to get lit AF, sitting in their houses being useless fucks.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Skynet went live?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yea and then people can stop moving to Colorado!!! That would really help us out!!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yeah and maybe I'll stop smelling it in my bedroom every night at 10:30 on the dot.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Govt legalizes pot. FDA regulates it, making it expensive. Cigarette companies jump in, pump it full of the same poisons as cigarettes...

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2) former dealers lose their market, but are the only ones selling clean pot. FDA comes down onnthem like they do folks selling raw milk.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can anyone confirm the giant pot leaf floating just off the coast of Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This wouldn't be beneficial for the pharmaceutical companies. That's why....

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why do the people who always make these things never use different colors? Let's just pick similar shades of the same color.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fuck legalization, it shouldn't be regulated or taxed at all. They need to ignore it like tomatoes, basil, tulips, poison ivy or Flint MI.

10 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 19

except you don't see kids getting high off tomatoes. I advocate it being legal for rec use but just like cigs/alcohol, don't mix with youth

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Decriminalization

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Its a fucking narcotic dude. Fuck off. This is why people think weed smokers are stupid.

10 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 6

Smoker here. I hate when other smokers say "it's not a drug, it's a plant." No it's a fucking drug dude.

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

So it's not a plant?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Smoker as well. Its just no why. You sound like that old burnout hippie that never did anything and smells like old cheese.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The people that don't think weed is a drug haven't over dosed on an edible and been comatose for hours. Treat it like booze

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have, on purpose. Multiple times. I've also had alcohol poisoning, multiple times. Alcohol is worse, much much worse.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My point being it doesn't require any chemical processing and doesn't affect cardiopulmonary functions, even in the case of an overdose.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Its still a narcotic though? So your point is you have no point.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Based on my experiences, responsible cannabis users aren't usually otherwise engaged in criminal activities. Not equal to heroin or meth.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's blatantly absurd. Should it be schedule I, or even legal? Probably not. Should we hand it out at elementary schools? I think not.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Feds won't legalize it because pharmaceutical companies give them money.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Big pharma wants to keep it like this for as long as they can

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

If it was legal and accessible, doctors would isolate the THC and put it in a pill so you dont get high like smoking it would, and sell it.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

Marinol is the pharma version of cannabinoids, and it gets you high as shit, and generally accepted as less effective than the plant

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Few things wrong here: THC will get you high as shit if you eat it with the carboxyl group removed.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

There is a theory with minor merit that the medicinal effects require everything together, isolation reduces effectiveness.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The "Big pharma doesnt want it" argument is bs. Saying that they dont want to capitalize on a drug for money because of pills is stupid

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

They make more money off of their pills than they would weed.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

If they try to get into that though they now have to deal with each other AND every dude who snags a dispensary license. Too much competitio

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're missing part of the argument. Cannabis will replace or reduce their profits, and they cannot capitalize on it as much as pills.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cannabis will directly reduce sales of many types of pills. And cannabis producers aren't exclusively pharma companies

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Id to do more research before I say anything with that kind of authority, but they love to gin up Big Pharma conspiracies in their basement

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's a common fact that pill sales drop radically in medical states. So maybe you need to not be as dismissive. And research.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"They?" It's a common fact that tobacco and pharm are some of the biggest contributors to anti-marijuana causes

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lobbying, direct campaign support, recommendations to governing bodies

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So why the trolling? What makes you want to do it?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Always. Everything. Its whatever.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh. Intentional troll account. Cool

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes and no, I just see the situation from a different perspective than you and I clearly stated I'd have to do more research before

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

acting like an authority on the matter as you seem to be setting yourself up as.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Write to your Congress critters, they control the money and that's the only thing the DEA will respond to.

10 years ago | Likes 83 Dislikes 2

It's not just money, their's a racial and class component to it also.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ha those ass clowns tried to stop it from becoming legal in DC. 71% of people voted yes and Republicans still tried to fuck it up

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Find your congress critter: Senator .senate.gov/index.htm">http://www.senate.gov/index.htm and Representative http://www.house.gov/

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

wait they're seriously called congress critters? I imagined a squirrel looking over emails.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I don't about the seriously part, but *I* thought it was cute.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

On another note, I'm proud of Pennsylvania for finally making moves and legalizing it for medical use this year.

10 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 2

I want it to be for recreational use as well but I'm happy that it's allowed legally for medical at least.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good luck getting it. Alot of the legalized places on this map don't actually have anywhere to buy it from or get prescribed.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

In NJ you pretty much need to be hours from death to get a script.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes I know! I'm from PA, live in CO now. If it stops being such a shithole I may move back one day.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Tracy Jordan?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

lord knows everyone here already smokes it

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What is the oil thing?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Scroll up a bit.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Someone else asked I answered in there

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

K

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Actually in Washington medical was just illegalized, we only have recreational. Which is better that nothing, but not fair to sick people.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

i don't get it

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

neither does washington

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Incorrect. The medical mj program has been discontinued. With pretty much anything mj available at stores, it's not necessary anymore.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Except that the price has since quadrupled.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well i think they also started finding people taking advantage as a tax loophole and they nipped that in the bud because it's recreational

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nice pun lol.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

so anyone needing it medically can get it just as easily

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Some people used med program to get around the law, but I've first hand seen more people benefit and helped by medical usage.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For sure, but the point is, if it's legal for rec. use and it costs similar to go to a dispensary or your doctor, might as well get rid of

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

the go around for the people taking advantage.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's legal in DC. Friggin congressmen are probably getting high in their suites with staffers.

10 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Be real, they could do that whether or not it was 'legal'

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sales are still illegal I believe...

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're right, still can't buy it in stores here.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Edit: legal to "give" to a friend so you can imagine the grey area currently

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

A friend with weed is a friend indeed haha

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Cannabidiol?

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

CBD was mostly bred out of cannab is because THC is what most are after. It's making a comeback in the medical community because

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's ability to regulate the effect of THC. A 1:1 ratio will get you somewhat high but when you get to 15:1 CBD to THC OR 20:1 it's nearly

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Impossible to get stoned. Good for children and new cannabis patients. But watch out for "cbd oil" from hemp. The CBD content is usually

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Very low and it is usually manufactured in China from hemp that absorbs pollution and heavy metals from the environment. And CBD may require

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Some THC to actually work. CBD only laws are far too restrictive. The best part of cannabis medicine is multiple compounds working together.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I live in Colorado and went very quickly from not caring (and therefore in support of legalization) to hating it completely. Constant smell.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 6

I also live in CO and have never smelled weed outside anywhere. Unless youre in the crowd at red rocks

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'd love if I only smelled it outside. But no, these fuckers smoke it on their damn porch at 22:30 on the dot and I smell from my bedroom.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Complain to your neighbor then to your building management.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Neighbor: It's legal. Building management: Despite physical proximity, they are definitively separate buildings owned by different entities

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I didn't mean complain to them as in threaten to call the cops on them. You ask them to smoke someplace else or at a different time.
