As a lesbian detested by my religious mother, I know who to blame, my mother and her air freshener.
Happy pride

Why do some people have to be so stupid? I've been rockin little trees for over 20 years.. and while I'm cool with whatever your sexuality is.. I've never been aroused by anything other than a woman. Grown women.. maybe the next one I get will be the one that does it

I'm a straight atheist essentially disowned by religious family. Will you be my lesbo sister?

If that’s true: so is perfume, deodorant, soap, shampoo, conditioner, candles and cleaning products. Smelling any of them will turn you gay. Best lock yourself in your room, stop bathing or cleaning and absolutely do not interact with anyone else. It’s the only way to “save yourself”

Which scent turns you trans?

They're linked to cancer for long term expose/high concentrate. Had a coworker that had like 20 of them in his vehicle to get rid of what I would suspect is more likely a biohazard smell from possible flood damage.

Conventional car air fresheners emit Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and synthetic chemicals that have been linked to an increased risk of cancer under long-term or high-concentration exposure.

In actual studies one of the few things that increase the chances of a male fetus turning out gay is HIGHER than average testosterone while in utero.

Here's an upvote from an 80 y/o straight grandfather!
It wasn't me!

Is there some kind of unspoken competition to come up with the most unhinged conspiracy?

2 months ago | Likes 86 Dislikes 0

I'm sorry, I misread what you wrote, I thought you said "unknown condition" instead of "unspoken competition." In my defense... look over there!

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think it's just: pick something at random, declare it is making people gay/transgender/whatever, monetize with ads for supplements. "Phytoestrogens in soy are turning you into a woman. Effeminate soy-sucking liberals are invading our cities and forcing your children to drink soy. Protect your family by purchasing my bull semen testosterone supplements!"

Yes.

Apophenia, seeing patterns or connections in random, unrelated things. It's a normal part of the human mental tool kit (think of seeing shapes in clouds, or the like), weaponized to protect a fragile ego. These people are deeply unsatisfied with something in their own lives, and need someone to blame--so they find a pattern that isn't there, that gives them an enemy to put all of their hate on instead of hating themselves--because THEY can't be wrong, right?

2 months ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

It's more that dumbasses like being told they are intelligent, so they will latch on to whatever they can that makes them seem smarter than their peers and because most evidence can be waved away with "that's what THEY want you to think" it makes it easy for them. They don't like being wrong and as you said, to protect their fragile ego they push it hard and find other shit they can be wrong about to maintain their believed superiority

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not unspoken. It's people chasing views and engagement for money. It's all snake oil and grifts. I'd say it's probably about a 50/50 split that the idiots you see are making it up or if they actually believe their own bullshit.

i think if someone says something this stupid, they should be put down.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They won't make you gay, but so many people use them wrong. The string isn't meant to hang it from a rear-view mirror, that's distracting. The string is meant for it to be RETRIEVABLE when you put it next to your cabin air filter, so it scents the whole car. That's why they're FLAT.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Right right so just a 15 min job taking a bunch of panels of your dash? Nah you can it up from your rear view mirror and if you are so easily distracted that i becomes dangerous i suggest you stop driving all together since there is plenty more things that will distract you on the road.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Huh? What kind of wacky car do you have where your cabin air filter is a 15 minute job? It's usually behind a snap-off panel in your glove box. Takes less than a minute, and it just slides right out and back in. You can get filters for like $4 online, too. You don't even need any tools, either.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

These have been around longer then cabin air filters in cars though

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Your lack of education isnt what made you stupid, but it sure is showing.

I work in procurement for a company that manages a road coming out of DC. The roadway maintenance teams get super picky about their air fresheners and truck cab cleaners. "Oh you got the OG scent instead of lemon? WTF!" A few guys are the macho, construction types too. We keep 4-5 cleaners on hand because hey, people use what they like.

You're not gay if you don't want to spend entire shifts driving around in a truck that smells like a locker room.

Be sure to blame your mom to her face. This is literally one of my favorite things in the world to do. Take my dad's hatred and criticisms of me and point out how either a) they're his fault. Or b) he does the same things.

Drives him insane. And the older he gets, the more it gets to him.

I'd do the same to my mom, but she's dead.

2 months ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

My dad always had what I thought was a solid grip on history. Then the misogyny and homophobia slipped in. I read entire books to say "there's no evidence of what you claim per these books..." Made me a hell of a good lawyer that I am now, always having a cite to support everything I say. Also made me a hell of a good trans woman, but that's beside the point.

2 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Oh really? Would you please provide us with a peer reviewed journal article that demonstrates that your father ever said those things???

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Everyone knows this isn't true. It's only lemon scented ones that do it.

2 months ago | Likes 89 Dislikes 0

I thought it was the “Black Ice” ones

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nah, they don't. They might attract lemon stealing whores, though.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean, get too much of it in one place and you could even call it a lemon party.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Umm, my friend here doesn't know what "lemon party" refers to...
