Happy Reunion! My wife’s reaction to our cat, Pete, being found.

Our little buddy ran off last night on an adventure last night. Spent the night driving around looking for him. Canvased the neighborhood today passing out flyers. Our 5 year old daughter loves this cat so damn much it hurts. My wife and I were just sitting and trying to be encouraging to each other, but starting to prepare for the worst. Exhausted, I had to check the front porch just one more time…EDIT. Thank y’all so much. I should’ve mentioned that if our reaction seems a little over the top for one day, it’s because he has no claws and is mostly blind and there are a lot of coyotes in the area, so we really feared the worst. Also, he had never done this before. The reason he doesn’t have claws is because they were soft and flakey and got infected a lot. They hurt him and we just did what the vet recommended.

The one ought adventures can really make a person feel GUILTYYYY

Pete has mixed feelings about the whole situation.

Wife: "OH SHIT!" cat: "OH SHIT!!!"

Can't blame anyone for being emotional. Hell, my dog escaped and I had to fight tears as I ran in the woods looking for her for 15 min.

Give us a confession bear meme, you found a similar cat at a shelter and took it home to replace your missing cat, eh?

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

If I thought for a second they might have an albino, I might have tried.

My cat was "lost" for 5 days and 4 nights during a brutal rain and wind storm, he finally came back and rarely leaves the house.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So glad you got him back. Truly.

I had the same reaction when my cat Patchy ran away while we were moving. My mom found her and I cried so hard knowing she was back with us.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Aw, that's sweet. Glad he came back!

Thank you. He’ll get it all over when my daughter wakes up in a couple hours.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

You do NOT have to excuse being this upset just because it was one day. My puppy disappeared for 20 minutes recently and I nearly cried.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Thank you! I appreciate your saying that.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Exactly how I reacted when my Muki went on walkabout for almost 48 hours.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Our cat is named Pete, too (aka Petie Pie). So glad you got him back. We’d be devastated without our Pete; we love him more than life!

Thank you so much!

What a pretty flarepoint, I would lose my shit and have lost my shit over my animals getting lost in my area because we also have coyotes

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you so much!

My cat has run off twice, and been gone for two-three days. Both times, I went completely to pieces with worry. I completely understand.../

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The reaction. Just the sheer relief and joy is overwhelming.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Very happy for you guys and especially Pete. Hopefully he doesn’t now sit by the door and cry to go back out.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ha. No, he never does that. Don’t know what got into him.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My cat was away for 6 days once, we sat down, were about to tell the daughter we had lost him, when we heard him on the porch, complaining.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I am SO HAPPY you found Pete! When I found one of my little idiots who dashed out the door one night, I sobbed the same way ?

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It’s impossible not too! Thank you!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I HAD THIS RECENTLY! Little idiot clawed a screen open and escaped. Came back at 2am, purring and covered in ticks

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You guys should consider getting a collar or vest with a little pouch for a GPS tracker like an Apple Airtag, super cheap peace of mind.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

He had one. Somehow found a way to lose it while the battery was low and I haven’t replaced it yet.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think the Airtag batteries last for over a year, i have a bunch in my campervan hidden inside valuable things like my camera bag etc lol

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Never heard of airtag. Thank you.

My cat, Elvis was missing for a month- we found him on Thanksgiving only 2 blocks away- elderly lady called us after seeing flyers

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

It was the best feeling I had in a long time!

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

That’s awesome! Glad to hear that!

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The cat does not care... at all

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nope

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Should’ve ignored him and tried to do some work. It’s the exact opposite

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In cat language, ignoring them means you trust them enough to let your guard down

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I hope your cat is chipped! My old one wasn't because my parents don't believe in microchips and one time he was lost and never found

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Cats can get out of their collars after a while of trying, so it's not always reliable

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Microchips are injected under the skin.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah which is why he suggested getting microchipped, because collars can come off...

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What an odd thing to not believe in. My vet uses them to instantly get my pet's files. They're not just for lost pets.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

He was gone for one night?? I get worried if our cat doesn't show up after 2 weeks passed.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

A night, a day, and half another night. He’s not an outside cat and lots of ways to die where we live. We truly feared the worst.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

One night?? Give the cat a night off once in a while!

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 4

He doesn’t have claws and can’t see for shit, and there are plenty of coyotes in our area, so we feared the worst.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

What happened to his claws

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Would get infected. We would treat his infection and he would get another. They were causing him a lot of pain. The vet said this can 2/

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

When we got him 5 years ago, we would see him limping and discovered all his claws were unusually soft and flakey. His little toes would 1/

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Happen to albinos and recommended removal. He was a much happier cat after that. 3/3

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not just coyotes. Roaming dogs, hawks, rednecks and a highway nearby. Lots of ways to die.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

v gorgeous cat mate glad you found him

5 years ago | Likes 137 Dislikes 3

How did you get meru as a reaction gif?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Merunyaa’s patreon and from other Imgurian’s.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thank you so much! I really appreciate that!

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I always see you using that reaction image. Please, in detail, explain who that is.

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

One very happy (mostly horny) red good girl.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure that's Meru the succubus. It's Hentai.

5 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

Character is Meru by artist merunyaa. She’s an amazing artist. Known for her nsfw content but her sfw works are awesome as well

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Warning: if you browse they art, apparently they used to make really "niche" things a while ago

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

i found a cat a month ago in the parking lot at work and took it home because there's coyotes around there. She was very skinny. I put up 1/

5 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

listings on a bunch of lost pet sites and craigslist for found cat, but no one has contacted me. On one hand I want this cat to get home 2/

5 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Check for to see if she's chipped. Vets will do it for free.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I did, took her in for a full checkup and to look for a chip. She does not have one.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If you've tried everything you can think of to find it's owner and it's been awhile with no luck, I'd say you have a new kitty! YAY!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

as she's an incredibly sweet little girl, but on the other hand she was clearly out there for a minute, and Ive become quite taken with her.

5 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

pretty sure you can legally adopt her now, proving you did all you could to find the owner

5 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

One time I found a black cat and had half a dozen people respond and almost all of them said their cat is chipped (the found one wasn't) 1

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The last one who lost an unchipped cat took a look in person and said it's not her cat. Sorry this story kinda sucks 2

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Still entertained.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Vet said it's a feral and told me to release it. Can't argue with a vet so I did. I still feed it and am sad about the whole thing 3

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I would be a WRECK if I lost my cat. I’m glad that Pete is okay!

5 years ago | Likes 334 Dislikes 2

When I was little, one of ours got out. A few days later we found her hiding next to the house and our reactions were similar to above.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Mine ran away in college. I got a call someone two neighborhoods over spotted him and was feeding him in their backyard. 4 months later.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’m so lucky he was found. Retired couple had outdoor kitty mine followed one day. He’d only let the husband pet him. And me, of course.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My cat got a bad ear infection recently, never had a previous problem in ten years. I'm a grown man, and I was a mess.

5 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

My dude is dealing with recovery from a bladder infection. I barely ate all week.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Same, mine didn't eat for days cause he was nauseous, so I didn't eat.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I felt guilty eating, knowing he was ill in a hospital, even though he was getting fantastic care.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh, same here. Our cats are family!

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Mine left for 2 weeks. Was found wandering 15 miles north with a new collar. I have a feeling he was kidnapped. I was a mess.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Thank you so much.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Same!

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I used to have nightmares about my cat going missing. Never happened.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Same! My cats only goes outside in their outdoor-room or with harness. I fear that someday I will leave door open or something else happens.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thank goodness.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

My childhood first cat went missing and he never came back. I still have dreams that I find him somewhere. His name was Willy The Pertti.

I’m really sorry.
