HALT (Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired) is a counseling tool designed to help individuals, particularly in recovery, identify and manage four common, easily overlooked emotional and physical states that can trigger relapse or poor decision-making. 1/2
Hungry (H): Avoid letting hunger trigger stress or poor decisions by eating balanced, regular meals. Angry (A): Recognize feelings of anger and manage them through healthy coping mechanisms rather than destructive impulses. Lonely (L): Combat feelings of isolation by connecting with support systems, friends, or safe people. Tired (T): Prioritize rest and sleep, as fatigue can weaken willpower and impair judgment. 2/2
So if I spent the first few decades of my life in a perpetual state of all 4 HALT conditions, I can forgive myself for the bad decisions I made during that time?

I hate to admit how often this has proven to be a true solution for most womens problems

What I'm getting from this is she's willing to meet you half way, as long as you do your share.

The smallest things can make you happy. And the smallest things can make you sad.

She's learning quick!!!!!

Honestly, a nice, soothing cartoon and some snacks sounds like a good day.
I can definitely recommend We Bare Bears. It’s a kids’ show but it’s so well done it can be enjoyed as an adult and is just super relaxing.
The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, same reasons.
Also, Animaniacs if it’s zany comedy you’re after. That show was specifically made so that some of the jokes only make sense to adults.
Surprisingly, SpongeBob episodes are a bit hit and miss, at least in the early seasons…
mrsdowneyjr
Love early animaniacs, not so much the new stuff. Similarly, early SpongeBob is better

Fraggles if they were remade today

Lovely child. But even sweeter is how understanding and affirming her dad is. My mom despised crying and we'd be mocked and punished for it.

Bless this little baby. She's trying so hard to regulate. Her parents gave her the tools and she's using them.

Ain't no better feeling than making your kid happy!
And it doesn't stop at childhood.

I want her to be SO happy!

This little angel seems intelligent and self-aware but she'll be repeating those exact words into her 30's.

Parents who help their kiddos learn to regulate their emotions. A+

Agreed. Music and food is a good choice.

I think it’s cool that her dad is helping her learn to regulate her emotions
OhIfIMust
Not just regulate, but identify and articulate them, and work with him to come up with solutions.

You should forgive yourself regardless. We're not meant to keep living with constant guilt over our past actions.
