If you'd like to complete the experience with a joypad then there are Bluetooth controllers out there which will work with most of these emulators. I bought the T3 Wireless (link below) for a barg £8.76, works great on PSX, PSP, DS among others, with no hitches. You just have to connect to your device and map the buttons.

FP Edit: Thanks for the upvotes everybody. Hope it brought you a few hours of fun filled nostalgia

Lol!

If the app doesnt require a licensed version im sure you can find a free cracked uptodate APK for android/ maybe even a modded Android APK.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You can also just connect a wired Xbox 360/One controller if you have a USB C type phone and a USB 2.0/3.0 to USB C adapter.

Thank ya !

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Hey man, no problem.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe I can go back and finally finish Crash :/

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

They're remaking the Crash Bandicoot series for PS4!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or just buy one on Ebay or Lukiegames.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

The Real Deal > Emulation

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Exactly. I have an SNES and some other consoles. I love them. It brings back warm feelings from when I was a kid. I really need that.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Or download all that for free

Frown: can run n64 on phone but not on my pi.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The 3 runs it doesn't it?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It should, since the original could run it at a very bad frame rate.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No not really. You can play like 3 games on it

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hell yeah I got an s7 a few weeks ago been looking for something like this, cheers.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can only play rpgs/menu based games on my phone. Everything else is too hard on a touchscreen

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

I have an android. I connect a micro to USB adapter to convert a 360 USB controller.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I beat Super Mario 64 on my old Razr

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Connect a Wii Remote via Bluetooth. Map the buttons to keys. Map the keys to emulator controls.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Wait, what? You can do that??

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

can you save the state on any of these emulators? in the free versions that is

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

You can on most i think, at least the Gameboy ones

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I believe so

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can on the Gameboy ones. you can on Snes9x as well

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've never seen an emulator that doesn't save your game progress

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Drastic, the 3ds emulator, can save state

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

How do you control the games tho?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This is it. The greatest post in Imgur. I see you guys in 6 years or when I get tired of this

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No NES?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I prefer to buy the game not because of legal reasons but because I want to play on my big screen with a real controller

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The problem is that almost every game other than menu-based RPGs suck to play on a touch screen.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

See last image regarding bluetooth controllers

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm aware but the problem with THOSE (for me anyway) is I'm not going to carry them around and, if I'm at home, might as well use the PC.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Try drastic for nds, it's work quite well touchscreen. I used to play rune factory 3 on it. And the performance good enough on old LG G4

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not hating on the post though, to be clear. A lot of people will appreciate the info.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Before anyone gets hurt, I want to say: do. not. download. ROMs. Well, unless, of course, you own the game already.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Otherwise, you are breaking copyright laws, which will get you in some decent trouble next time you get busted for posession.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Piracy is too commonplace for a comment like this to have an effect- endless torrenting, cracking, streaming etc... Everyone does it

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In most cases game authors overlook retro gaming due to minimal commercial value. Beyond that upload bad, download often ok.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, upload bad, download a bit less bad but still bad. Plus, stuff like Virtual Console disagrees with your value statement.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Better yet, don't throw away your old phones and turn them into consoles.Phone bluetooth + ps3 controller and a HDMI cable can go a long way

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Tell me more about this hdmi cable

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

oh, found a blog on it. http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/make-retro-game-console-old-android-device/ that was faster then imgur limited text

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

ONE LAST THING JACKIE, I highly recommend a ps4/ps3 controller the guy that was explaining to me said you would get less input lag.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I wouldn't buy without looking up more research as I've only seen this done at a local tech store. But you would take the hdmi adapter) 2)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

2) plug it into the phone, plug the hdmi cable into it, then it would display everything on your tv, hide the touch buttons inemu setting 3)

More or less I think the idea of using your old phones & current phones is the concept. Everyone has a old S5 or S4 just hanging around.

Dolphin is a fucking glorious emulator.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

What was he playing? And what was the frame rate like? I remember trying it a while ago and it was like 3fps

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hear the emu is well into development, same as PS2X.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

PS2 running of mobile phones?!

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Play! Is a ps2 emulator currently in development for android, ios, PC, etc.. The games run slow, if at all. Here's the site Purei.org

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

From what I've heard, the slight similarity in architecture is making developing the emulation on Android go by faster than on PC. Maybe.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Really? You mean the NES classic or the emulators?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Supposedly, it's easier to make an Android app emulate the PS2 than it was for a PC program. But could just be rumors /speculation.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

God, I know the PSP took a lot of heat for being shit, but I loved that thing

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This. The only problem is it requires you to learn about it some as it's a little complicated to get up and going. For a phone emulator...

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

it works great though.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or even better, I would just go out and buy a Gameboy SP if you have the funds. That way, battery on your phone is conserved, it's much...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 8

more portable than a full blown controller, and has some of the best portable games available for it.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Normally I'd say go for the real thing, but retroarch is sweet. Everything you can think of is on it. I've been playing earthbound

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Having no buttons doesn't work so well in games that require fast button-pressing such as Super Mario and Metal Slug. If you're willing...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How so? Download the game you want to play > open the app> pick the relevant emulator> choose load then browse to and select the game

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As someone who got Castlevania Aria of Sorrow running just fine, I think it's a little more complicated than that. For example, the...

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

screen may need to be adjusted.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

the app has a default aspect ratio, so if you want it to fill your screen you have to change the settings, thats the same with all emulators

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you save in the game without saving state, and you completely exit retroarch, will the game load your save? 1/2ish

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

King of Swing would not remember my progress no matter what I did. PS, good taste, I finally finished everything in DoS after 105 hours.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I couldn't figure out how to adjust settings and stuff in it. It doesn't seem that well made.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

It can do anything but the interface isn't user friendly. Google can tell you how to get most games to run well on it.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

So because you're an idiot and can't figure something that has copious amounts of documentation out, it's not well made? Okay IKEA-boy.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 52

Bruh, its 2017. Nobody wants to spend an hour setting up an Emu lol

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

If you're on iPhone, Android, Windows, or Raspberry then you will spend more time than 0 on configuring your emulator. You're an idiot.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 16

Subscribe to BuildStore. 10 dollars a year and access to all the emulators you want on iPhonr

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

1/2 There is a program called impactor. As long as you have an Apple ID it will sign it and put the emulator on your phone.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

2/2 you have to do it once a week. But what it does is it uses a application that acts as a developer so Apple thinks it's okay

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Unless it's jailbroken then you're good

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Unlucky son. You can always invest in an old android handset. Will still run most of these emulators pretty well.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 9

Even my old 45$ HTC could run Drastic at 60 fps. Drastic cost almost as much as the phone :P

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It requires jailbreak, which isn't out for Android 7.1 yet. :(

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1
