Switch to more earthy tones so they wouldn't be noticed as easily. That's why the tunics are brown and the year listed is 1916 not 1914

WW1 was a conflict that taught us a lot about grenade warfare. Lots of designs, few worked very well. FREX the US MK1 rather sucked.

Those Maces were invented specifically for the trenches, not some hold over from the Middle Ages. They were for silent trench raiding

Not as widespread as the 1903s. Many battalions in the USMC wound up with 1903's at the start of the war. Not to mention marksmen.
