I rescued a kitten with a broken leg. Picked so many burrs from his fur, had to prop him up on his belly on a towel to bathe him..
Took county like a minute to show up when I called them. The broken leg thing was a motivator apparently. I took two days to call, thinking-
I could splint him up and help him because I couldn't afford a vet, I should have done it right away... I called back to check on him and-
they told me they put him on pain meds, antibios, and no surgery which means no amputation. I even submitted a name for his record: Cookie.
Oh, to be clear, I did not try to splint his leg. I did spend hours reading about it and decided it was beyond my capabilities. ....-
I really regret trying to take care of him myself, in hindsight it was stupid and selfish of me and dangerous and unfair to Cookie.
