If you do the crunch reeeeeeally slowly you can work out every inch of your abdomen. don't forget to go slowly in the descent too.

I'd rather drink beer.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or you know, you could just eat sensibly.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fact 1: The rectus abdominis muscle is 1 long muscle. Fact 2: For that reason you can't train "Lower abs" without the rest constricting.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So stop thinking you have to work different parts of the abs for max aesthetics. Do it for the variation.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bro...you can't say colored...

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

imagine how confused I was...I read "coreworkouts" as "coworkers"

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Remember, abs are built in the kitchen, and sculpted in the gym.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So what I get from this is if I throw a 20 minute flutter kick tantrum a day I'll have sexy abs?

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Whenever I do a lot of these it hurts my lower back more than anything. Any advice guys? Am I doing it wrong or is it normal?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Exactly the same with me. I could do situps forever if it weren't for my back giving out after about 30 of them.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When I do crunches it feels like my ribs are rubbing together...how do I stop that?

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Try another exercise if you feel pain or discomfort, like leg lifts.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Gonna favorite so I can pretend I'll do the exercises later.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That sounds about right for most people

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just saying that alot of the moves and muscles they use are wrong, flutter kicks work lower abs and 1/

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2/ ots almost impossible to capture an exersize with one picture.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

why are all the second to last cg guys out of line

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

not favorited for later. i know myself.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

favorited aaaand forgotten

11 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 0

the only time i want gifs...

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I do the "Dick Destroying Facepunch Shitfinger" workout everyday. It fucks up every muscle in your body

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

was looking at how the abs were red the whole time and was like "damn all of them are hard"

11 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I thought that was the joke.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm seriously doing something wrong when I do bicycles, then. They seem incredibly easy.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Make the resistance harder. Speed faster

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Those are super hard to get the form right on. I think everyone does them wrong :/

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can you link to a good guide?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Go slow is the best advice I can give you. Honestly I don't do those because I just can't figure out the form so I can't help a lot :/

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i just do them wrong and do them for long periods of time. works either way.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Range of motion exercises are better to start with. Otherwise you risk back injury. Source: I'm a personal trainer and I teach a core class.

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Links to some maybe? Or a recommendation of one of your preferred exercises?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

twist and reach, side bends, toe reaches, side steps, lying side reaches, knee raises

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Twist and reach, Side bends, knee raises, non-weighted deadlift. Basically take any full body movement and subtract major resistance.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why in the flying flip would anyone need 24 exercises for 1 muscle group?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fucking Flutter kicks

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The absolute worst thing about the Air Force.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

or...just hear me out here...I could continue to lay here and pretend I'm a burrito.

11 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 1

Burritos are food that show you what you will look like if you eat too many of them

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Now I want Chipotle.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

There's got to be an easier way to masterbate.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Literally the previous post was about mashed potato bacon cheese balls.

11 years ago | Likes 211 Dislikes 0

Hey protein carbs and fatty acids

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Mine was the Madona face sucking Drake and Drake not liking it so much... Image.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

For me, it was this

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This is why I love Imgur.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This really sucks as a colour blind guy…..

11 years ago | Likes 179 Dislikes 10

Look at the bright side...oh

11 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

Top to bottom then, it should be intuitive without the colors.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Light blue x7, blue, light blue, blue, light blue, blue x2, red, blue, red, blue, red x7

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Shouldn't be. Color blind people can still see shades, dude...there are 3 colors.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The fuck are you, red/grey colorblind?

11 years ago | Likes 59 Dislikes 3

He's "rule of funny" colorblind. Whatever kind of colorblindness makes the joke. Also known as "point whore" colorblindness.

11 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

The exercises increases in difficulty as they go down. The first image is all light blue and the last one is all red.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Tell me about it

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had a color blind buddy and when he would go to print documents for school, we would change the paper to a neon color. He didn't notice.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As someone who is not color blind, this post just sucks.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yeah, even if you were monochromatically colorblind that would still be bs and you know it.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And, for those who are truly ab masters: http://www.meckanimal.com/images/Moves/Core%20Exercises/Dragon-flaging_anime.gif THE DRAGON FLAG

11 years ago | Likes 107 Dislikes 2

wow

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Bruce Lee-style

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

flagged for dragons.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's a blue on right?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I fucking love doing these. They are easier than they look.

11 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Start doing front levers. Dragonflies are too easy for anyone with 2+ years of training under their belt.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I started progression on them, then got slapped with some good ol tennis elbow. RIP.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Stretch and foam roll. It'll cure it 100%

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

One image per move really nails down exactly how to do these.

11 years ago | Likes 2637 Dislikes 3

Finding a video with proper execution is too much hard work.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Improvise!

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Leg lower literally is an image of his legs in the air.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

2 check out for free to see if you want the program. It's 90 days long. I'm 60% done and its awesome. https://www.youtube.com/user/JDCav24

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I know right?

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well several of them have two images for the same move...

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

HOW DO CORKSCREWS

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ikr - I do the jackknife every day as I lay down in bed.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Jackknife crossover: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buk2q1Ve55E

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Trying these rn. Burns so good

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's not like you were actually going to do them....

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Not with only one image to work from anyway.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thats all you have to do. Just one move

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My arguement is kinda biased because I did sports so I already know most of them, but the image and name together explain most of these.

11 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 9

Oh yeah? Well how am I supposed to do this so called "sit up"?

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I figured it was more of a reference chart than an instructional for novices, but I couldn't resist being snarky.

11 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Imgur needs more snark, let it flow.

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Let it Flow, the *other* coming of age song.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

you know google is a thing...

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 3

but red crunches are waaaaay harder that light blue ones

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They aren't one image. They are gifs of how it will actually go when I try to do them.

11 years ago | Likes 543 Dislikes 0

For real though, if you just hold these, you're gonna feel a burn.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You deserve more points than t the parent comment

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

11 years ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 0

WHERE IS THE KROGAN?!?

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

You must be really good at the jackknife

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I'm gonna have to agree. Just holding the- actually, just looking at them hurt my stomach.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Fellas I highly recommend checking out Athlean X. The Physical therapist who developed it has a ton of free vids on youtube you can 1

11 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

masturbate to. 2

11 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

There's a +1 comment if ever I saw one

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If these get reposted enough, maybe I'll start doing them.

11 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 0

I'm not one to complain about reposts, but...this is the 3rd time I've seen this in under a year...come on

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

most of these suck anyway so nah

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

funny thing is I was looking for these images because I started doing them. Found them because of a repost!

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Any progress so far? Or too early to tell?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

First few days it was tough to finish the set. Now I'm looking for more difficult motions. I can do the entire first image just fine.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

YES! GO YOU!! I will be in some kind of shape this year, I've decided.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Step 1: Lose fat. Abs don't show up from doing hundreds of these different little exercises. They'll appear once body fat is around 6-10%

11 years ago | Likes 328 Dislikes 12

It was my understanding that muscle burns fat. So strengthening your core with exercises like this would make you lose belly fat faster.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Can these exercises help lose fat though?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I work out to make myself feel warm and fuzzy inside, not for "showing of gains"

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Actually it can appear as high as 15% it's all about genetics and how well built they are. Personally I get mine at 13

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You're lucky! I'm at 11 right now from the winter and I'm slowly getting down to my goal of 9% for the summer

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Doesn't have to be as low as 6%

11 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 0

I know but that's the percentage of the unrealistic guys with bodies of greek gods. It's pretty unhealthy for the average guy

11 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 4

Around those levels you're on a knife edge. The commitment required to stay healthy at such low levels is immense.

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

When I was in high school I was measured at zero body fat. (yes zero) I was thin but was very defined and had huge calves. Now at age 50?ha

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I've been to 4% for a comp once. I wouldn't recommend anyone ever go under 7% under most circumstances.

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Jesus that's low. If you did that natty, your physique would have been ruined no? Auschiwtz mode

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Even if you are fat ,training abs can help you get a better posture, and put less stress on your back.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Sooo true! Pilates made my job as cocktail server so much easier.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

(3) personally bought his Athlean X program and it's some of the best money I've ever spent. Check out his free stuff on youtube!

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Physical trainer: A lot of people think ab exercises give you a six pack which is a misconception. It isn't diet either. It actually (1/2)

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(2) bull shit kind of guy and he uses actual science to support his methods. He doesn't believe in short cuts and he's so smart.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

More reasons to work muscles than appearance.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good Job, you read the /fit/ sticky.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I honestly have no clue what that is. I spend my life in class and at the gym. I'm going off personal experience. Not some 'sticky' stuff

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Right on, I believe you. It just seems like overnight some info gets disseminated and people talk like they've know about it for years.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Soo never..

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Not never. It takes time and dedication. Anyone can lose weight. It might be easier for some people but everyone can attain a set goal

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's definitely true. - and nothing's more rewarding than making progress toward that goal. My comment was simply in jest : )

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You guys should all check out Jeff Cavaliere https://www.youtube.com/user/JDCav24. Professional PT, used to train the Mets. He is a no (1)

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

looks solid... ive been trying some of those exercises lately.. defo leave ya sore

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

absolutely. My first week was so rough but it's been so worth it

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yes. this.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But do they help to burn fat? My stomach is the toughest place to lose anything! Idk what to do. :(

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

youre probably doing it right.. you just have to be patient and consistent.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Not really, since you don't consume that many calories doing abs. You are better off with cardio and working big muscle groups, ie. thighs.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was always told to burn fat first, get abs second. If you get abs with a lot of stomach fat it'll make you look bulgy

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No. Nutrition and sleep will. Cardio if you want to speed up the process.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I got in my very best shape, after 30, doing heavy lifting, very low cal, and little cardio. (For a work gig. http://imgur.com/ENnRale)

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Knowing I had to wear that also lit a fire under my ass and I took diet pills, but yeah, focus on legs to lose belly fat.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No. Eating right, doing cardio, and keeping your heart rate HIGH when working out will burn fat

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Okay, that is what I've been doing (more of), just gotta watch I'm eating better! Thank you for responding

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can confirm watching my diet worked the best for me.

11 years ago | Likes 0 Dislikes 0

You're welcome! Keep up the good work and you'll see progress that keeps you motivated!

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cardio. And a very strict diet.

11 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

Like how strict we talking?

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Clean eating, my friend! "Clean eating IS ingredients, not HAS ingredients." Avoid carbs and processed foods!

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hella strict, indeed. An ouside mag online post says 1 to 2 lbs of body fat per week is a healthy rate of weight loss & recommend eating 1/2

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

500 fewer calories than spent per day. I'm too lazy to find the sauce, but Google "how to get a six pack ouside online" and it'll be there

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you, dude.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They don't help burn fat other than the calories that you burn doing them. You can't target areas to lose fat.

11 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Dang alright. Yea, I've been doing cardio and I lift weights. Just gotta watch what I'm eating better. Ty for responding!

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Eat a lot of fish. Can get ~1g protein / 10cal, or close to, but only with fish. Can of tuna has as much protein as a shake but less cal.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cardio is more effective at burning fat if done in a fasting state. E.g. when you wake up, BEFORE any breakfast. 2/2

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

High protein low calorie diet combined with hard weight lifting will build muscle and burn fat. Low being ~1600-2000 cal 1/2

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The more muscle you have the less cardio you need to do to burn the same amount of fat in a day. To burn fat fast, push cardio hardio, but

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Chicken is a close second if you get tired of fish, but fish will always have more protein per cal than chicken. Until you add shit ofc

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0
