I've even made up a jingle for this in my head but you'll just have to imagine it for yourself. Today we talk about FOOOOD! Everyone likes food and Australia isn't the most culturally diverse when it comes to food, we mostly eat other countries cuisines BUT here's a list of what you're more likely to find in Australia than other countries.
Starting at breakfast we have Weet-Bix! All Australian brekky of champs. It's actually really healthy if you're into that kind of thing but the best way to make it up is with boiling water, milk and brown sugar on top, de-lish!
Next, of course, is Vegemite on toast! Always eat like the first one if you're trying for the first time, with melted butter underneath, if you want to step up your Vegemite on toast game add cheese to the top and you'll be grinning.
Next brings us to lunch and to the humble meat pie or just pie if you're in Australia. They come in lots of flavours, my favourite is cheese and bacon, made of a mince and onion gravy filling they're a national treasure, usually topped with tomato sauce.
What's wrong with you people that don't put beetroot on burgers?! It's the bomb! This pictured is a maccas burger with the lot, some Aussies put pineapple on their burgers too but that's the weird ones.
For dinner we are having Kanga Bangas. They are kangaroo sausages, yes we call our sausages bangas (sounds like bangers) they're pretty yum cooked on the BBQ and covered in tomato sauce.
My favourite dinner ever is a good old roast lamb! Some people have been surprised we regularly eat lamb in Australia and I'm surprised other places don't, it's so delicious! Covered in gravy and mint jelly, lamb roast is the best food in the world!
Time for dessert bitches! This is a pavlova and it's gods gift to Australians. It's made of a meringue base, topped with whipped cream, passion fruit and whatever other fruit you'd like! Damn now I want a pav!
Last but not least is lamington! This is easy to make and I recommend you do if you haven't had it before, it is literally just a sponge cake, cut into squares then rolled in melted chocolate and desiccated coconut. So Australian and so yummy.
Quokka tax! If there's anything else you'd like to know about Australian food or anything else about Australia please message me and ask, I'll be making more of these posts if people are interested enough, it's always great to learn about other countries :)
thepenisbIue
Just to add to this post, I just bought a cheese and bacon pie. Making this made me hungry

As an australia expert, I can confidently identify this as an australian post.
WoefulWombat
As an Aussie baker who spends hours a week making gajillions of lamingtons: fuck lamingtons.
thepenisbIue
They're yummo! :)
danimalnzl
As a kiwi living in Canada, these are all the things I miss about New Zealand... apart from Quokka... never heard of those before. Cute!
Gunshanks
You eat pavlova for desert? Would you say you're conditioned to like it?
CrypticRuin
But what about bagged water and milk?
thepenisbIue
Nope none of that :) we have bagged wine!
themarc431
Wtf is the deal with a McDonald's burger pic on this list!? You never been to a barbie? Take a pic of a real Aussie burger not a blow in.
Kangawallafox
Totally agree, didn't know what Maccas was until I was about 10, nothing like a real burger cooked on the barbie with Coon and BBQ sauce
Reddestofgoats
Just wait for the pavlova and Tim Tams Questions. also the brits always seem surprised at the size of our pub meals and ..
Reddestofgoats
convinced they will see a Roo in the middle of the city, Just Don't talk about the drop bears.

My new boss is a kiwi. She introduced me to vegimite. I liked it and have had it a few times since. She puts loads of it on her toast
Kangawallafox
Kiwis have Marmite, Australia has Vegemite; are you sure it was Vegemite?
AsianJim
Ya I'm sure. We have it in our fridge at work. She doesn't claim it to be from New Zealand or anything. Just introduced me to it
AsianJim
Similar tastes?
Kangawallafox
No, very different. I think marmite is disgusting but love Vegemite
CrypticRuin
Deployed on a UN mission Australia was the donating food country. We called the cuts of meat "ass of kangaroo". Shit was tough and stringy.
Kangawallafox
Was probably mutton if it was tough and stringy
CrypticRuin
Next month was US donations. We got Burger King beef patties because BK recently changed their beef supplier.

Something about poor quality. Read a news article about a condom being found in stars and stripes.

It's normal to eat lamb in Catalonia too. It's our main meat for bbqs.
LemonScott
What's mint jelly? A minty gravy? So your lamb tastes minty?
thepenisbIue
Yeah pretty much! It's just a gelatine mint spread, it goes really well with lamb :)
rolfmonster
I spent two weeks in Oz and I only had Vegemite off this list, and kangaroo skewers, which were magical. Also lots of avocado and rocket
thepenisbIue
Smashed avo on toast is great too. You definitely should have tried pavlova!
rolfmonster
definitely had lots of smashed avo on toast, long blacks and I did try pavlova!
thepenisbIue
Yum! Pav is my favourite. Did you like australia? Where did you go?
rolfmonster
We had a wonderful time! Landed in Melbourne, was there for five days, then drove up the coast through Bairnsdale, Eden, Canberra, then 1/2
rolfmonster
on to Sydney, total 15 days
Theonlyguyontheinternet
This is great and all, but what about the everything that wants to dead you?
thepenisbIue
That'll be another post, this was my food post silly
harambesghost18
If tracer was Aussie....That's how I read this in my head. Sorry kind of not sorry. But cool post +1
aer0nz
Fuck you. Us kiwis invented the pav
themarc431
That's a lie. You are fake news.
thepenisbIue
Fuck off fosh and chops. You get the hobbits, give us the pav.
IAkuTheShapeShiftingMasterofDarkness
Accent judging coming from you cunts? That's a fuckin laugh
thepenisbIue
aer0nz
You have vegemite, and IMO vegemite > marmite
thepenisbIue
Yeah marmite is the worst..
ICanHasJava
I thought it was the same thing. I only ever tried Marmite.
thepenisbIue
No, they're similar but do have different tastes :)
SaucyFineBolognaFactory
bangas? you talking about snags?
thepenisbIue
Yis. Bangas and mash mate
Kangawallafox
Bangers and mash is English; every state in Aus calls them snags (I've lived in every state except Tassie).
thepenisbIue
Every pub I go to has bangers and mash on the menu haha but yeah I call them snags too. Just said bangers because that's what the pic said..
AbstractBettaFish
Why would anyone voluntarily eat vegimite?
thepenisbIue
Maaaate. It's awesome.
AbstractBettaFish
Many adjectives came across my mind trying it, awesome was not one. We had a priest from AUS in our high school, dared us all to taste it
thepenisbIue
Do you taste it on its own?
AbstractBettaFish
On a saltine cracker
thepenisbIue
Did he at least put butter on it before the Vegemite?
