I thought we were better friends then that.

Story time. My friend and I have been friends since we were 6 years old. From bad relationships to shity life events we were always there for eachother. I thought we could act like grown ups and live together but we haven't even gotten the keys to the house and she is already losing her mind.

A little background. I have been out of my parents house and living with my boyfriend of 5 years for about 2 years now. She knows him well and has no problem living with us. She is still living with her parents and asked us to be her room mate so that she can finally get out into the adult world.

The landlord of the two bedroom town house is her mom and dad, orginaly we were planning on fixing up the house for two weeks then when my lease is up at my current apartment we woud move in. I understood moving forward with this there would be some comprimises, I can't walk arround the house naked, no more coutch sex, have to be curtious when we have game night with his friends etc I just didn't realize I would be doing all the compromise. I will bend over backwards to accomidate but she has zero flexibility to my needs.

Her plan is we pay more because there is two of us (she never told us this but I found out) but she takes the significantly larger room, she will not compromise on it at I attempted to politely voice my concerns about the size and she became overly offended told me to back out then and refused to talk more on the matter even tho the room given to us wont fit our computer desk bed and Bird cage, wich she refuses to allow us to have our desk or bird out in the living room whare it will be happier.

Orginaly we were going to use some of my furniture because I don't have any place to store it. She decided her first house has to be perfect and purchased all the furniture kitchen items and picked out the paint without my consent and refuses to compromise leaving me with having to find a place to store it or sell it.

Lastly and my biggest concern. Her mom is not charging us a security deposit however I was informed by my friend that her mom uped the rent for us by 75$ a month to cover anything that breaks. When I asked how much my friend would be paying she lied to my face saying she havent talked it over with her mother yet even tho she had decided to move in by the end of this week rather then waiting tell my lease is up.

I'm frustrated and hurt, she is using me to get what she wants and worst of all she thinks she is helping me. I was able to afford my apartment just fine.

RUN!

Tell her to fuck off, start saving your pennies, and move out.

Back out. This is a nightmare roommate situation in the making. Possibly lose a friend now, or definitely make a real enemy later.

A sure fire way to end a friendship is to become roommates.

I contacted my leasing office when they opened thismorning and they are willing to let me extend my lease another year.

Wait so why is there nothing you can do about it? Can't you just not do that?

Don't move in. You have to compromise in a shared house or not share at all. She needs to get out in the world on her own and learb

I barely have to compromise. Me and my housemate are on very reasonable terms. We only share the kitchen and toiletries.

Favors for people like this never end well. Just stop this before it gets worse

Don't move in.

Sometimes you have to let friends go on their merry way. Leave while you still can! I tried living with my exbff twice.....

Well, either level up or disengage.

Don't move in with her. That sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.

You sign a lease?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

sounds like you should just try to extend your current lease and not move in with that psycho
