It can't actually replace artists, but it's available so people pay for it rather than commission real artists. Ugh. I couldn't watch it. The science was just SO WRONG. No, UV doesn't make blood fluoresce. Sure, you can use Luminol, but that's going to destroy the sample. Blood also doesn't cause phenolphthalein to turn pink. And on, and on, and on.
To be fair, though, UV does cause some other bodily fluids to glow...
