My boyfriend wants to be good friends with ex and I tried to be ok with it. She keeps complaining to him that he doesn't care for her like before. He tells me that she is just trying to have a platonic relationship and is possibly wanting to be cared more as she lost her mom recently. I am confused and uncomfortable with all of this. Just looking for some validation and guidance at this point.

Just tell him straight out that youre not okay with it. Simple. Dont skirt around the issue.

Give it time. If you can't deal, get out. But you know what his character is. If he's s for dude, support him. I'm friends w girls I've done

I've been in this situation before. Didn't end well. Cannot simply be without old feelings. Tell him how you really feel and work it through

Doesn't the ex have other friends? No doubt someone needs care after something like this, but from another girls boyfriend??

Dude may be just trying to be good. Don't hate him for it. He's being unintentionally stupid about the nature of men and women. Tell him so.

I'm in a similar situation as your bf. He's gotta put a line in the sand with the ex. If she can't handle it, he'll have to drop her.

He has to make a choice

"Hey, hun, I have to admit I'm not crazy about the thought of you and your ex hanging out so much, but I trust you."

Does he not know what the word ex means? If he doesn't, you should teach him. Being supportive is fine but if she's trying to restart it...

It’s not good, but jealousy will damage your relationship too. Trust, and give him enough rope to hang himself. go on your way if he does

Split and deport.

Being friends with your ex is a sign of narcissism. At least that’s what an article told me. Really though, I wouldn’t feel comfortable.

He did nothing. My insecurity arises from her attention seeking

Did you talk to him about this? That's you're not comfortable with how close she wants to be.

Yes I did. He says there is a world out there where guys and girls can be friends even with a past which I'm unaware of.

What a reassuring bf you have. Jesus, some people. Look, it's up to you, if you aren't happy in a relationship, you'll suffer. So talk more.

Being 'friends' with an ex is not usually healthy and tends to not work out. She's obviously attention seeking.

Lived this situation, can confirm. It doesn't end well.

Ditto

Exactly my feeling. He wants concrete evidence apparently. She comfortably denies when confronted!

Let me quote you on something: "She keeps complaining to him that he doesn't care for her like before."

This right here OP. This is a bad line for someone to drop.
