Learn the chords E, Em, A, C, D, G and learn how to do something called a Bar chord and then learn F, google will show you the way.

Well... I've no advice, other than to practise constantly. Don't stop. The first two songs I learned, were Smoke on the Water, and Iron man.

1. all the first position chords. root 6 and root 5 barre. major and minor pentatonic scale. those will allow you to play a ton of music.

2. this is most important: play with people as much as you can. if you can't, play along to records. this will help your rhythm
