To be fair, you were actually promised $2,000.

If that happens americas gonna regret having such loose gun regulations I think

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Those scumbags have already processed a profit out of this.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yall have no clue how much money is on Wallstreet huh, one little hedge fund with 10 billion is nothing

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

weird, almost like both sides don't actually care about the people

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I honestly think a country wide revolution would happen. We’re almost there. This would seal the deal so to speak. GameStop of all things

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I just want to point out that Biden is doing great, and I’m not talking about him! Fuck trump and what he’s done to our country

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Melvin Capital already got a bailout from other hedge fund firms. Gov bailout is still in the wind... for now.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I kinda feel like if they bail them out, we won't see that 1400 at all.

5 years ago | Likes 290 Dislikes 0

I feel like a bail out would cause everyone to implode with rage and it will be worse if we get no check. A lot of us are tired of the bs

5 years ago | Likes 90 Dislikes 0

Anyone else find themselves having that "Oh I wish they would" thought a lot these days?

5 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

The overall market is doing fine and right now helping the hedges is too toxic politically. The national interest is supporting WSB.

5 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

That is the overall public are cheering for the little guys. America loves to see WS get beat at its game, And they love the underdog.

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

This. It’s not America vs. Wall Street. It’s some Redditors vs. a couple of hedge funds. The need for any bailout is grossly exaggerated.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If that happens you need to make those fuckers jump. Get up there and push them if you have to.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Do you think Biden will let this happen? Asking as a non-American.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The government is in bed with corporations and Wall Street, but Trump wasn't the answer.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I feel if this happens the US should riot.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

yeah, but the US should already be rioting for a dozen other reasons, yet here we are..

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Also been saying that forever. The US has no spine anymore. It is just beaten.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The more money the government gives wall street the more these Redditors should take from wall street

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If the do then it won't end well for any politician, I hate to say it but something like that might unite those fringe Republicans and extr

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Extremist democrats, I truly hope it won't but if the government does ignore us so blantintly then it might united enemy's against one

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If it is done through legislation, i don't think enough dems will vote. But then repubs will refuse stimulus. Stalemate.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’m still waiting for the $600...

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well they don't want us to by anymore stock obviously

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I figure they'll have a bailout before I finish writing this sentence.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This won't happen quickly .... but only because people are paying attention. Once they stop paying attention however.....

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have a feeling Wall Street will sacrifice Melvin capital and crash the market just to inflict maximum damage to those that bought gme.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Then blame it on the retail traders and say something like “see this is what happens when normal people bet on the market”

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Think of the gold digging wives, porn is not an easy life.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

?❤+??=??

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Never forget. Republicans don't want you to have your stimulus. They don't think you deserve it, you lazy bum.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The funny part of all this: most of the "small" traders who are profiting actually put the money back into the economy(1/2)

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

As they pay mortgage/student loan/debt or buy something. Hedge fund hoard...

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Hedge fund managers have house payments to make as well. It's his 3rd house but bills need paid. /s

5 years ago | Likes 126 Dislikes 4

They should have managed their money from the $1200 + $600 stimulus checks better.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You mean the 3rd McMansion built on a private island in the Caribbeans.

5 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

Where do you want their kids to play if they have to give up the private island? In the public with the poors?? How about some compassion??

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

If they get a bailout to cover their shorts, that money would go to wsb

5 years ago | Likes 638 Dislikes 4

A small part of it, it's the big shareholders which are making massive cash at the moment.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don’t know if there’s enough loss to justify a gov bailout: a few billion lost from a $50Tr market? Not worth the feds time... yet.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Also a lot of said bailout would leave the us immediately. And public backlash would be a nightmare

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They'll probably count the bailout as part of the $1400

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don’t understand, can you explain?

5 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Hedge funds borrowed millions of shares of GME when it was worth something expecting it to be worth nothing so theyd never have to pay

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Sold it immediately for cash and now owe shares of a slowly bankrupting stock. Now that its not going down they are METAFUCKED.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

(Oversimplified) The hedgefunds need to keep buying stock to pay off their short position. HF’s buying GME will increase stock price/WSB

5 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

The hedge funds have to buy stock. WSB currently owns the stock. Not just them though. Plenty of rich people got in on GME too.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

A bailout would involve someone paying what the hedge funds owe, so the people holding the stocks still get their money from someone

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

The hedge fund is fucked because the stock they dumped to make the price crash were borrowed & they have to buy & return them.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What don't you understand?

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

They’ve shorted over 250% of available stock. They have to close at some point.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

They are doubling down on the shorts? Lmao. Last i saw was 115-140%

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Not just them, lots of other hedge funds have now shorted and many made more going long early on (or cashing out existing investments).

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Why wouldn't you? This entire thing is going to make wall st. (and a few select day traders behind wsb) serious bank.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Apes strong together

5 years ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 1

Insert "Apes together stonks" meme

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

????? ????

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

And if they give us the $1400, I’m sure plenty of people will buy GME. Nice catch-22 we’re in.

5 years ago | Likes 242 Dislikes 1

We are not getting anything.Should have been Bernie. He is the only one with a spine. I’m tired of lesser of two evils

5 years ago | Likes 64 Dislikes 8

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

This is no time to masterbate

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Unpopular opinion on imgur but has to be said: Bernie couldn't win among Dems what makes you think he stood a chance against trump?

5 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 9

Because people were voting against status quo when they voted for Trump. Pretty sure Bernie would win in '16.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Idk. We all voted for Biden because that was the only option. We could and probably would have done it for anyone running against Cheeto.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You all did but that wouldn't have beat the 74 mill who voted for Trump. We made it to 80 mill because of republican voters

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not so much that he couldn't win, he wasn't given a fair chance.

5 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 5

He was though... It's the same process every time. He ran twice and lost twice

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

the rules were specifically changed to give him a better chance in 2020 and he didn’t even last to the convention. We, don’t, want, him.

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 10

Brokerage houses engaged in the short contract with Hedge Funds, they could release them from their obligation.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Unconstitutional. Gov't can't pass a law interfering with existing contracts, only new contracts.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

But the brokerage houses could settle with the Hedge funds without buying back the shares, if the wanted to let the Hedge Funds off the hook

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If faced with Market Collapse plus pressure from government, it could happen

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Agreed.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Be a great way to incite a riot, but certain states are making protests illegal now too so that's a thing.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I remember last month when it was $2000.

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 3

$2000 - $600 = $1400

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 3

Pretty soon it'll be $200 and all you apologists will be like "they meant $2000 including the $1200 and the $600 that came out earlier...."

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 7

Shits pretty funny. I wonder why no one trusts politicians? A real mystery.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It's really not a hard concept. Rs wouldn't let $2k through, they put $600 through so fewer people would starve waiting for the whole $2k

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

And before Georgia was he saying a 1400 cheque to bring to total up to 2000? Or was he saying a '$2000 cheque?'

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Yeah, that's not what they were saying last month when they needed us. Actual gaslighting by a political party. Kool.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

'Why does no one Trust or like us though?'

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I think you're misinformed. Can you please share your source?

"$600's not enough, we need $2000" seems very clear to me. I don't know how you could interpret it to mean we need a total of $2600.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Rs stonewalled on $2k. Ds did $600 as basically a down payment, w/ remaining $1400 coming when they had more control in Congress.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Last I checked, the Rs are still trying to prevent the rest from coming out.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Sure, but that's not what what was promised. Nor do they need R support. They said 2k cheque if we win. They won, then said no, we never

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

It also does need R support. A Senate vote of 60/40 to pass normally, and even invoking a workaround requires 51/49.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

And luckily we won Georgia. So we have the numbers. You make them vote it down, then pass it anyway.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Said that. It was always 1400. But it wasn't.
