Trump cancelled that a few months before covid happened. So while stupid as is almost everything he does it would not have changed the trajectory if that is where it originated. I just have not heard any reputable scientists explain why this research is needed at all. Purposefully developing stronger viruses seems dangerous and stupid to me. Especially in china where safety is rarely considered to the level it should be in any industry.
