The Puckett Week Supply Drive

Hi everyone, I'm MrPuckett

This is a really special week for me and my family.

It's PJ's first birthday!

It's MrsPuckett's adoption anniversary!

And...

It's the one year anniversary since MrPuckett passed away.

I wanted to do something special to commemorate all three occasions, and keep MrPuckett's name alive.

I posted to the Nashville Facebook page and asked for suggestions on who we could help

Dozens of people commented all of these amazing organizations.

I'm going through all of their websites and materials until I read a pretty shocking statistic

I pictured my own years of homelessness and how terrifying that was.

To think of a woman getting out of an abusive relationship and then being homeless with her children...left me speechless.

Meet The Mary Parrish Center.

They provide housing for survivors of domestic violence who are facing homelessness. It's not a shelter, it's actual apartment homes that survivors can live in instead of being homeless.

All this week I'll be doing a Supply Drive and fundraiser for victims of domestic violence who are facing homelessness.

We'll be sending everything from toiletries to bedding and anything someone might need starting over in a new apartment.

The name of the project?

It's Puckett Week!!!

The executive director set up this campaign on their website for me, and they also created an Amazon Wishlist for the survivors of domestic violence they provide housing to.

Today we can make the terrifying situation of leaving an abuser and starting over just a little less scary.

If you're able to check out the wishlist and send a couple of items to survivors today, that would be incredible.

It's a group of us who may be doing small actions, but combined they add up to something so much more than ourselves.

MrPuckett was 15 years old when he died, so I've been encouraging $15 donations to The Mary Parrish Center in his name for anyone who can.
