#35 that whole business is so messed up. RIP Band of the Hawk. Also, screw you Griffin. >:o (((for reference, this is from Bezerk, one of the more messed up manga/anime out there - the guy pictured is Griffin, the Paladin type to Guts' Dark Knight, except Griffin did something horrible to his friends in exchange for power)))

#37 Wouldn't this just be, y'know...standard maintenance?

We put things storage and sometimes museums to protect them from the elements. Can't really put this thing in a lobby somewhere, so they do this.

#2 Knew a person complaining that Mexicans naming people Jesus is sacrilegious. Her name was Christine.

2 months ago | Likes 142 Dislikes 1

My name is Christina, in the olden days only 6 characters were allowed on some school registers...

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

CHRISTINE IS RISEN!

And she's feeling sassy!

This is so annoying when you understand the etymology. Jesus' name was Yeshua in Hebrew which was a common name (it's Joshua to us. We still know people named Josh). It only got morphed into Jesus after getting translated from Hebrew to Latin to English. The Spanish version is derived the same way. It's not blasphemous by any stretch. The whole point to the biblical story was that Jesus had a common name to reflect his common birth.

And how hard, exactly, did you kick them down a flight of stairs?

#1 "I must drink.
Coffee is the sleep-killer.
Coffee prevents the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my coffee.
I will permit it to pass over my lips and through me.
And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the Coffee has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain awake."

#20 Is this a 3 kingdoms reference?

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just shortly after! The unification of China under the Qin Dynasty is when the Warring States period ended (221 BC), and Zhao Gao served under the first emperor, Qin Shi Huang and his son Qin Er Shi until Zhao's death in 207 BC. But I'm a big fan of 3 Kingdoms! :D

I was a barista for a long time. I once did a dickbutt on someone's latte at the height of dickbutt. That's the closest I've ever come to godhood.

2 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

No, my friend, for one day you did not only approach godhood. You achieved it.

2 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

I also used to do the Death Star for people on May 4th every year and MTG guild symbols on our draft nights. I truly peaked in my mid-20s. Don't tell my kid that those bits of latte art were my finest creations.

the characters are from the ctrl-alt-del web comic. I think its parodying the miscarriage storyline, like a lot of things do.

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Online comic strip. OG was called "Loss" and is how dude told his community his girlfriend went thru a traumatic miscarriage. It was pretty early in the "overshare my private life for views" game that's now commonplace today. WILD drama ensues, and Loss becomes a meme.

#43 it's much worse, they *are* seperate letters, *unless* you put them next to eachother like that and they become a single letter and therefore are 'both' capitalized.

2 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Wait till they learn about the short (ei), long (ij) and Greek (y), they're gonna lose their miiiinds

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's even worse! There's also the letter Y that is the same letter(s) but not used in the same way unless in a name but sometimes sounds different. Like three other letters different.

Find some pro-slavery vermin.

'Late in the evening, they called at the house of James P. Doyle and ordered him and his two adult sons, William and Drury, to go with them as prisoners. Doyle's 16-year-old son, John, who was not a member of the pro-slavery Law and Order Party, was spared after his mother pleaded for his life. The three men were escorted by their captors into the darkness, where Owen Brown and his brother Frederick killed them with broadswords.'

They understand nothing but fear.

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0
