Was up there a couple months ago, construction on the road was dusty but I kayaked the other half of that lake all the way to the general store for some ice cream.
That looks cold. Clean and beautiful, but cold. Is it cold? Being from a tropical country, I want to try swimming in a clean, cool, lake without something trying to eat or kill you.
Used to spend as much of each summer as my parents would allow swimming in Dickey Lake to the West of GNP. Remembering that a group of kids was not only willing but eager to jump into a lake that averaged a 38°F temp in August is all I need for proof that kids are insane.

My son pooped in that lake. Also, it was cool seeing glaciers there.

They should just call it "park" now because most of the glaciers are gone.

MarleafChef
Remember the glaciers national park
activeracer28
I saw an exhibit at the Chicago science museum that mentioned glaciers will be completely gone by 2030.
iggylights
Yeah there were something like 30 at the beginning of the 20th century and now I think there's only 3 or 4
otiumCatulli
I just saw a headline which said that at 2 degrees warming there will be no ice on planet earth. We're heading for 2 degrees at least.
IKnowWhatImWorth
1.5 almost guaranteed by 2030

Americans don't even take off their shoes in water I see.
laacis2
those shoes are specially made for rocky beaches. Can be bought pretty much anywhere in the world
westellar
Do you see those rocks? You try walking barefoot through that. Lemme know how it goes.
AllMaktAtTengilVarBefriare
I have plenty of times as a kid, lake nearby got rocks before you reach the sand, hurts a lil bit, nothing too bad.
prestonpiggy
Exactly, sure as adult I would not anymore blindly run in, but walk in for a dip no problem.
