I used to have crappy jobs, few skills, little imagination or boldness. Was a magnet for suck.
TarrkertheNewt
Can you explain this gap in your employment? Yeah. I was looking for a job and couldn't get one because there are gaps in my employment. x_x

My excuse? "I was in Europe visiting friends." If they push it? "I was in Europe learning how to form better unions." No call after that!

Well I got a degree in anthropology, then I worked at the Gap, then there was the gap after the Gap closed, then I worked at Anthropology
(it went in the gap where The Gap had been) then there was a gap when I left Anthropology seeking to use my degree and work in anthropology.
redstaterefugee
I was criticized for being unemployed from March 2020 through May 2020. They wanted to know why it took me so long to find a new job.
HelpfulCorn
Jesus. I was out 6 months after i got laid off in 2009 and no one batted an eye due to the market then
I also work in a field where it consistently takes months to process new hires. My current job expedited me, and it took 2.5 months.

Covids a great excuse now

Thanks for the tip.

It should be, but I don't doubt that there are employers out there that might hesitate to hire someone wouldn't be willing to work...

You don't want to work for them anyway.

I was unemployed for 6 months and those were not the happiest times. Debt collectors came knocking daily it seemed

Those scum show up to your house to harass you? You would think they would have had an altercation or two to make that... unwise.
Mostly it’s a figure of speech. They would call non-stop every working day though. I did have a guy come serve me papers once though
Yeah I don’t think unemployment is fun at all. Pretty sure it causes panic attacks.
FantabulousMan
There's a difference between unemployment when you've got nothing vs a decently sized nest egg.

You appear to have taken that seriously...and in case it wasn't apparent to you, it was a joke.

This question is only ever used to help filter out candidates. Be careful what you say during this period. If you had medical issues,...
Moving, unemployment etc don't matter. Helpful bit of advice, strat up your own LLC as a consultant gif. Do freelance work and act upon that
If you ever between jobs, list that as employment. It looks better than than unemployed. Recruiters will never admit legally theybl didn't
Hire you because of your heart operation, so play the game right back at them.

How bout you mind your business since this an entry level job?

I've asked this question while interviewing, but typically only if certain patterns present. such as 6 months employed, 6 months off
repeating a couple times. It's an indicator they may only stay long enough to earn unemployment benefits. But I'd rather not assume and
give them an opportunity to provide a better answer, if one exists. The training program we had is 3 months and business unemployment
tax increases depending on the number of people who collect on it from your company.
DarknessfillsmyheartwithpainTIMMAY
I'm so confused. Who pays this tax? The employer? Who pays for the insurance? And it's claimed from your policy?
butthurtnevergetsbetter
You just failed the doormat test. They don't want someone who will stand up for themselves.
