Ramajam
So should I have my sight on the target I want to hit or a bit above seeing as my sight is a little above the barrel the bullet flies throug
JustAnotherPOG
Bullets don't fly perfectly straight anyway. Depending on the weapon, you can adjust your sights to a specific range and key off of (1/2)
that, or you have fixed sights and key off of that range. (2/2)
Stringcheesefellow
become one with your gun, so that you will not become one with your enemies bullet...
sayoung0311
Also hold it sideways for a better view of the target. And shout curses as you shoot to increase intimidation
CotterPyke
and you gotta scream "BOIEEEE" for effect or it doesn't work
That is correct. You’ve been properly trained, I see. I’ve found “BITCH NIGGA!” Is often effective also.
Avidinha
Front sight front sight front sight
Voldoc
#3 trigger control depends on what weapon you are using. Fingertip at short barrels (pistol etc), and hair triggers. 1/2.
With rifles the trigger might be different/not so soft. When shooting you shuld get more of yor finger trough the trigger.
thinkstop
very nice, I like how it incorporates the mechanical reset in the last picture.
StrictlyBull
They have a poster for not taking guns to vegas, schools, public places and such other wonderful events? "from cold dead hands" was it?
CocktailGaming
Summary: Line it up correctly.
zackaroooooo
Thank you for this, I’ve always wanted to learn how to properly use a gun, and you have to have the basics down before anything
AndrewBrandon
That's probably the best infographic on basic shooting I have seen that doesn't try to overload a new shooter with information.
RudeRobby
Why don’t they teach this at school?
mostly because bringing a gun into school usually doesnt end with "Wow dylan and eric that was cool of you to show us your gun collection!"
WizardyDinosaur
Ahh dang, I read "fundamentalists". Read anyway and was not disappointed
GreatOdinsTaint
I would argue that it's not about "holding" your breath. Personally, I line up shots and squeeze as I expel the last air out during exhale.
AtomicCB
yea the respiratory pause is the NATURAL pause between inhaling and exhaling, holding your breath is a shooting no-no
ThatRandomCanadian
Guilty of 3-6 when I occasionally play Airsoft. I'm fine at the safety, not good with the shooting.

Zombie apocalypse 101, unfortunately I'm from England so this is completely useless to me unless I'm going clay pigeon shooting with a gloc
Anyport313
Can't ya get double barrel breach loaded shotguns, i'd much rather have one of those old reliables
Nevertheless I have saved this to my pics in the unlikely event I will ever need it
sorry chap, it always appalls me the UK firarms laws. That's what they want for us in the US too, why NRA and gun owners fight them so hard.
BustedHelmet
with the acid and knife attacks going on over in England i have to say our gun crimes aren't looking so bad
Yeah I know man it's crazy
jokerman5656
If you learned anything here, go take firearm safety.
PacomeDeCardognac
I'm European and using only a few of these for VR games. I think I'll besafe!

I live in California. "Firearm safety" is "we're going to make it really hard to own firearms" here. Haven't shot myself yet. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

JudgeJack
What about us folks who naturally know nothing about firearms because they're largely illegal to own in our respective countries?

In Finnish military it was safety first, then shooting.
KillingTlme
Should be mandatory and free for all gun owners before they can put their hands on their own gun.
DontTemptMeWithAGoodTime
1) I have a bunch of guns, some for carry. I’ve decided to take classes, cause I think it will help me make a decision if I need to
2) and way more importantly for my family and I, make the RIGHT decision. Also if I need to use it, I feel like it would be good to be able
3) say to officials that I’m trained.
sheslikeheroin
1.That's how it works in canada. To get a license to own a gun you have to take a course which is essentially a 8 hour safety course on
My Coworker just won a gun over the phone. He is mad that he has to go in to pick it up though, because last time "they just sent it to me"
zimirken
You can only mail muzzleloaders.
Arch9enius
I guess they don't want the postman getting hold of it. Wait, people post cannon?
2 firearms identification( type of action, what it shoots yadayada), safe handling, how to handle squibs, miss and hangfires. Theres a
3 course for long guns and a course for restricted ( pistols amd sbrs type thing) with the first license you can purchase firearms and
4 ammo whenever you want no waiting periods. Handguns are registered to you and take several days to transfer. Our laws arent perfect
runswithgiraffes
I feel like this is a good thing to read if you know you're going into a firearms safety class

BradyHarkonen
It really bothers me that in Fallout 4 when you press the hold breath button to steady your aim and your character inhales.
gaction
You can hold your breath on an inhale. I've seen it taught both ways.
If I am trying to be faster (while still maintaining good accuracy), I will fire after inhaling and after exhaling. Breathing is (1/2)
generally only an important thing to worry about when shooting at intermediate to long range though. (2/2)
realbrickwall
Thanks. The other kids will be sorry for making fun of me now!
tdoeeva
Now write me a guide for sighting up, finger position when you're left eyed and right handed.
Sure just make sure it’s tucked real good under your chin.
I am that way. I just shoot left-handed. It took some getting used to.
carlsagansghost
When laundering money, make sure it comes from Russia. NRA.org.
Also, if you're just learning and having consistent deviation in the same direction, you're probably "wince correcting" 1/2
DJThuglifeSupreme
I still can’t get past this. I have no fear of kickback, and my gun has little recoil, and I still flinch to try and compensate :(
Try dry fire practice. It helped me through that very problem.
And I am never able to feel that I'm flinching, I can just see the shots getting off target, but it feels the exact same as the on targets
Last I shot, I would do a few dry fires between mags. I'd be golden for like, the first 3 shots of a new mag and then start flinching again
Maybe dry fire for a few, then fire 2-3 rounds, then dry fire again. Wash, rinse, repeat. Getting rid of a flinch can take a while, (1/2)
as you are unlearning a bad habit. This does take time and practice, so don't feel discouraged if it doesn't all go away at once. (2/2)
(anticipating the kick). To check if you are, unload/unchamber the gun and pull the trigger. You may find that you move it in antici . . .
SometimesEverytime
I do this every time I shoot my 8mm Mauser. Thing is downright unpleasant to shoot more than 20-40 rounds with

firing a pistol. All your attention should be equally distributed between focusing on the front sight and trigger control. That and (2/2)

VVulf
That second graphic is just bad in general.
Yes, like #4. Breathing doesn't make you point the gun down in that manner. Flexing or relaxing the wrist does.
JDarcher
Some incorrect advice in this, such as finger placement doesn't matter as long as your able to squeeze the trigger and not pull it
Rear sight align doesn't matter since you only need to foucs on the front sight to be on target.
That is only correct for point shooting at close distances (even then, you will still be off, just probably not enough to matter).
You shouldn't be shooting more than 50 meters with a handgun and I like how I was downvoted for giving solid advice. Imgur is strange.
