Unfortunately, they don't do that in hockey, anymore. They (NHL) also took away most of the full contact. Next we'll have NFL flag football.

They still fight, just much less; players that can't do anything apart from fight and intimidate don't get a place on the teams anymore.

The contact is definitely still there. Every night has big hits, enforcers are being phased out for faster more skilled players

The unfortunate thing is that the checks and full contact have gone away. The fighting has lessened as a result. I miss old time hockey.

Probably not, the ice doesn't melt that fast and I'm sure they pick them up in a timely manner

Nah, they get a little bit frosty, but pick up takes 10 minutes tops. Not enough time to get wet.

This happens for my local WHL (western hockey league) team. The Portland Winterhawks.. a lot of times the ice will be completely covered.
