A home for Christmas

Hi! This is my newest foster. His name is Naji. He's a maybe 2 year old German Shepard baby. He was found as a stray, pretty skinny and heartworm positive.

We have 4 dogs of our own and usually foster small pups to avoid fights. So naturally I was a little nervous bringing home a stray shep who had not been in any other foster homes previously. My husband picked him up and said he was barking a lot at other dogs at the hospital.

We did some slow introductions and quickly realized we had brought home the sweetest most gentle dog ever.

Obviously he needed a proper Christmas sweater to cover up some missing fur and add some warmth. He looked at himself in the mirror.

We typically crate our fosters overnight but decided to let him sleep in the bedroom with all of us. He stayed put on my side of the bed but would quietly get up if he heard a noise. He'd scan the house, determine we were okay, come back over, check on my husband and I, give my hand a quick kiss and go back to sleep.

Today we're working on "personal space" when food is out and when cats dont like you. We also got a bath and lots of cuddles. I don't believe that every rescue dog is abused and abandoned but I do believe that we really don't deserve dogs and am so grateful they don't feel the same way.
