A guest handed me a debit card from a very distinctive branch of bank (I actually had the same bank). I asked him "where in eastern [state] are you from?" His eyes got wide and he just got all flustered and asked how I possibly knew that, and if I was stalking him. After I explained how I knew he laughed about it, but was genuinely freaked out.

This really struck my soul. A young woman and her boyfriend were wearing I'm celebrating pins. It's encouraged that cast members ask about these pins as a conversation point. She informed me that she's one month cancer free. I went inside and got her a cupcake, and she thought I was charging her for it I told her it was free and she started crying. She said I made her vacation entirely with that one cupcake. It was one of the most heart warming experiences of my time there.

I'm an art student so I was one of the few that could draw at my location. My manager told me every morning that I needed to draw something on the ground for guests. This turned into a huge ordeal that could last for hours, where kids would join and I'd get requests. It was so much fun and my coworkers got pretty jealous haha.

I was cleaning trays and I saw a head of a mickey keychain in the ground. I threw it away, not thinking it would matter. About a half hour later a family asked me if I saw a broken keychain anywhere. I remembered which trash can I threw it away in and dug through layers of ketchup, old food, mayo, and God knows what else. I eventually found it, sanitized it, and gave to the family. They wordlessly took it and walked away. You're welcome, I guess.

I picked up a shift in ODV (outdoor vending) and this particular shift was at Fantasmic. They have a really terrible way of handling money, where you literally have a wad of cash in your pocket to use as change. At one point I pulled it out of my pocket and it pretty much exploded EVERYWHERE. I couldn't bend down to get it because I had one of those serving trays with beer. The nicest man in the world picked up every bill for me. I was completely even when I banked out. Side note, because my name is Stevie people often think I'm a boy. When I picked up the shift they had me serve beer, which is generally a guys job because they're SUPER heavy. I ended up selling twice as much beer as normal, and got about 50 bucks in tips. They asked if they could come back 2 days in a row.

It's widely agreed on Disney property that Brazilian tourists are the literal WORST. I had a Brazilian roommate and she was amazing, but for some reason tourists are the most unbearable things ever. This particular group came up to our tny restaurant and wanted almost 60 sandwiches in about 15 minutes. The worst part is that only ONE of this group of 60 spoke English. They were so rude and impatient and made one of our cashiers cry.

When parks are rented out, vast members often get to ride the reds between closing the park to the public and reopening to the private renter. Space mountain in Disney World is actually 2 tracks, one for regular lines and one for fast pass. It's extremely tight and close together, so seeing it with the lights on was TERRIFYING. My hands actually hit the tunnel at the end. Don't do that.

He did a free concert in Epcot. Nothing else needs to be said. It was awesome.

Probably the funniest thing that happened to me while working there. One of my coworkers was carrying a beer to the counter for a guest, and it was slightly over filled. In order to not have it spill everywhere, she sipped it and immediately realized what seems did. She said it was such a habit from outside of work, cause she'd do it all the time at home. The guest laughed, our manager laughed, so she didn't get in trouble, but she was so afraid she'd get fired.

They were not nice people at all. We were more of a lunch based place, so we closed early. It was about 730 and they flipped out on the busses because we were closed. As they were leaving, someone recognized them and asked for a picture and they completely ignored them.

He said that the two guys were underage because they were "way too excited " to be getting beers. They showed me their id's and they were clearly old enough. The cop was a jerk all around. Thankfully my manager believed me, not him.

This was my favorite thing ever. I picked up another shift in Downtown Disney, and on my break I visited a friend that worked at one the stores there. An old man with a stormtrooper shirt was browsing, and I told him I liked it. He was wearing sunglasses, so he tipped them down, looked at me, and said "do you?", then winked. It was George Lucas. I was still in costume so I couldn't react but oh my gosh I flipped out internally. No one else in the store even noticed.

FP EDIT: Wow guys, I'm starting to get used to it here. For those who asked, part one is here:

Also, inbox me a story where something totally crazy happened to you! maybe it'll be a future post ;)

I rode space mountain with lights on. Really kicks it up a notch when you see the beams and other coaster nearly grazing your fingers...

If you have any more stories I would love to see them

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Georgie sounds like a Bill Murry type of guy, the old wink, because no one will believe you kind of fun. Bet it was awesome.

10 years ago | Likes 78 Dislikes 1

I think I'd probably be dreaming. It just sounds outlandisg

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I was thinking of seeing if I could do the Disney college program but all they have are customer based jobs. I was hoping they had 1/2

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

1/2 something more behind the scenes (Networking preferably) but they dont.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They have professional internships you can apply for that are different than the college program. Try looking through those.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That would be pretty cool. To work there would be awesome and do network security. Dream job. Im sure my daughter would love it too.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That last one is pretty awesome!! And the cupcake one is probably more awesome. Well done!

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Cop must have never met a Frat bro, typical college kid, alcoholic, a brewer, or any normal person who simply enjoys casual drinking.

The happiest place on earth, and yet smiling is suspect of a crime... Wut

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

As a former cast member (all star) I can confirm the stigma with Brazilian guests. Very rude and get mad when you don't speak Portuguese! (1

10 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

BR? I REPORT YOU!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Made my first couple months hell!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

who speaks Portuguese?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So true. Sauce: I'm Brazilian. Sorry. : /

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Brazilian here - Sorry for that people, we are not all like that, I swear. Those big groups usually are from some travel company-easy-deal

10 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Not true. Most of us, Brazilians, ARE dicks. Just check out the political mess we're in now. That's the proof of our total dickness

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Speak for yourself then. Our political mess has nothing to do with someone being a dick with another person, especially if in anothercountry

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

It TOTALLY has to do with our sense of respect. We're not able to respect our own rules. And we take that attitude when we're abroad

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My grandma worked at Disney land. She got a picture of him kissing her cheek. And has plenty of stories

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The Brazilian tour groups are literally the worst. We were stuck at security between three different groups yelling back and forth.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

5/7 would buy beer from Stevie

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

@itsamestevie - Serious question, have you ever had a large group order only club sandwiches? A club sandwich club, if you will?

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The Brazilian tour groups are the worst. The chanting is what gets me, and the sheer volume of them, (like 100 people in one group)

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Great Post. Never heard of the Booboo family one. Just saw pics on Google, look like straight up Bogans.

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

And if I met George Lucas in your sitch, I'd implode from not being able to react.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I went to DL last summer. I have a bunch of food intolerances. Never have I gone out to eat and had such nice and helpful service. They 1/?

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

actually made going out to eat enjoyable and not stressful. Seriously some of the nicest people ever. Just wanted to say thank you. 2/2

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I had this same experience at DW, everyone was so nice about it, and was so thorough about checking everything I asked about, kudos!

You are so damn lucky to meet Lucus

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Were you Rapunzel?

10 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Tfw George Lucas was actually typo for Jorge Luces

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Were you named after Stevie Nicks?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yep!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you, I loved it. For the record, I'm over 30 but I still get excited every time I get a beer.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

These are great, typos and all. You were in costume? What character do you play as when you work? I'm so jealous......

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

all disney cast members do wear a costume, but I wasn't a character! i only worked in quick service food, but i still loved it

60 BRAZILLIAN TOURISTS!!! (How many is a brazillian?)

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

One time my family was at Disney after Star Wars weekend. We went on the monorail early morning, and the only other person was David Prowse!

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I was a server at a popular restaurant in Orlando. Can confirm, Brazilian tourists are the worst and don't tip.

10 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 1

In Brazil there's a 10% tax for waiters already, most of them don't know this about US

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Worked in the Clifton Hill area and Brazilian tourists were a welcome change from the Chinese and Korean tour groups. 1/2

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

I was absolutely shocked that people could be so rude and self absorbed on a consistent basis. As a side note, Australian tourists were 2/2

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

..my favourite. 3/2

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

It's it's not in their culture to tip. US restaurants work on tips they do not. Do not hate cause of that.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 20

I actually didn't judge because of the no tip thing. No foreign guests did. I took issue with how rude they always seemed to be

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Sure, but tourists should look up customs of the country which they are visiting.

10 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Culture wise yes. But tipping is not culture, it is part of your normal wage. Those things are different.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

You *could* argue it's part of the culture/sub-culture.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In brazil in Portugal all that money goes to the business, so they never see it like it

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That cop obviously never met some college bros before. Beer is life.

10 years ago | Likes 81 Dislikes 3

If I'm at a place that serves beer, and it's in a place that's hot and humid like Florida, you bet your ass I'm stoked over a cold beer

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Right? And they might have been excited cause they were in freaking Disney world

10 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 1

Rather, drinking IN Disney might have been the excitement lol

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Honestly, I could drink legally 8 years ago and I'd still lose my mind about drinking at disney

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm a 33 year old woman. I get giddy over craft beer.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Let me guess. You love IPAs?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I'm not crazy about hoppy beer. I like just about any other style though. Big fan of stouts. Love a good sour.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm almost certain that they made space mountain brighter than it was when I was a kid. Used to be stars and shit but now i can see the 1/2

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It was bad enough in the dark >.> My mom tricked me onto it when we were there.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2/2 tracks, and let me tell you they are really close together. I definitely would never stick my arms up in there as an adult.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I worked in retail during walmart shareholders week. The Brazilians were by far the best. I'm sorry it isnt the same.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If I high five you, will it be like if NPH high fived me?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Brazilian here, and I sincerely apologize for my stupid, badly educated and rude ppl. We are not all like this, in spite of events, promise.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I worked at Disney for 8 years, sometimes I would pretend I was deaf so I didn't have to talk to guests :(

10 years ago | Likes 514 Dislikes 2

So, that was you huh?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I am going to learn sign language now so that I can do this sometime when I am out and about and do not want to be bothered!

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

So...Are you a black man who works in merchandise? Because This would explain the guy who acted like he couldn't hear then didn't sign back

10 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

Nope, I haven't worked there in a good 5 years now.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Ah okay, I went to Disney in 2011 tried to talk to a clerk who acted like they were deaf then didn't understand sign language. More fakers!

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I DO THIS TOO! At work and most of my family members that post on facebook.

10 years ago | Likes 80 Dislikes 0

Do they later post "1 like = 1 prayer for my deaf family member"?

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

I've heard so many stories from people who worked in Disney saying they loved it. Ya'll make that place a once in a lifetime experience :)

10 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 1

went last year, took my son, first time for me since I was a kid. it blew my mind, really, the employees there are incredible +1

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

8 weeks in the US and Mexico! My dad went to Disney when I was a kid without me, I've never forgiven him. We're from Aus btw!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nice! Disney cruise? I've been on 7? I think. Used to be able to go every year before my grandparents passed and my Uncle became Satan.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nah I'm just in the US for 8 weeks, we've just scheduled in 4 days at Disneyworld!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wow... What's the deal with Brazilian tourist?

10 years ago | Likes 146 Dislikes 0

As a flight attendant, they're handsy and entitled… But honestly the same can be said about a lot of people

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Reminds me of more than a few Québécois I've met.

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 5

Most of the younger Quebecers are pretty cool. I've only ever has issues with the older ladies.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I went to Disney with my Brazilian cousins. They left messes everywhere. (1/2)

10 years ago | Likes 78 Dislikes 1

(2/2) they said they were paying for the employees to clean up after them.

10 years ago | Likes 70 Dislikes 0

I have a friend that does that at the theatre and it makes me livid.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

wow that is just weak shit right there

10 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

Went to Disney one time and a few Brazilian tourist walked out in the middle of the street while a bus was coming and almost got hit.

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Usually the brazillians that can afford to simply go to disney are a bit loaded. And loaded brazillians are trash

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Brazilians and Russians are very, very similar. Russians have improved their behaviour lately though.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm a nurse aide and they are just as annoying to take care of. Very entitled.

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

So true

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

There's a brazilian of them.

10 years ago | Likes 228 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Just doing my job.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

All of the arrogance of American tourists with 5+ times the number of people.

10 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 7

I live here in Brazil and I can tell you:1. Brazilians care a lot about body and household, but outside that they don't give a single shit->

10 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 0

2.The brazilians that go to Disney tend to be the entitled rich you would imagine. There's still a culture of servintilism that supports that

10 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 0

I see that with Brazilian exchange students a lot

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Just extend this to all of orlando... Not just Disney...

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I remember always seeing groups of Brazilian tourists the last time I went. They all had matching Brazil shirts and cameras.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They are super loud, drop trash everywhere, yell at employees and are the worst to get in a restaurant. Source: I'm a Disney cast member

10 years ago | Likes 97 Dislikes 0

Unfortunately that is true.Source (quit lurking for over two years just to write this).

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

*source I'm brazilian and worked for a long time at a Holiday Inn

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Brazilian here: check. Most of us are plain dicks. Drive around down here for more than 10 minutes and you'll learn how rude we can be

10 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

Yep, its easy to get angry here in Brazil, lots of assholes everywhere and I don't even live in a big city.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I love that you aren't offended lol i know one Brazilian and she was a rich bitch but you seem nice haha

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

they are a nightmare.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We were at fast food place once and let my kid play in the playground. Brazilian ladies & their kids were the loudest and messiest. (1)

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Couldn't think straight because they were so fricken loud. And the mess they left, just disgusting. Felt bad for the employees (2)

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was at Disney when they had a group of Brazilian school kids, I can say they were awful. Ran through lines and swore at you in Spanish.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

While saying how fat/ugly/ect.. I and other people in line were. It really brought the trip down for me and my wife.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Went on a cruise and there were several families of Brazilians, they are obnoxious, loud, rude, and don't give a shit.

10 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

So true. Souce: I'm Brazilian. Wish I wasn't. I apologize for our dickness

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Why are so many brasilians dicks? Does it come with the starter pack? I know some who are amazing people but most tourist i worked with..(1)

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Were awfully impatient, rude, they get mad because you cant understand them. Hell even the muricans were a bit more understanding.. :(

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I believe that's cultural. We pose as "warm", but we're raised 2 be dicks. Even to ourselves. Just check out the political mess we're in now

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

As a former team member at Universal Studios, THEY ARE THE WORST. They think they are entitled to EVERYTHING!
