Just finished it, am still sitting in my seat during the credits. Genuinely a top 5 movie for me this year. Worth a trip to the theater, and the best Looney Tunes movie ever made.

I forget "Zaslav" within a few minutes of reading it every time. It's like an Eldritch curse or something that refuses to allow me to learn it, just slides off my brain like it's too oily for me to know.
ImperialForever
It was great.

My conspiracy theory is that they did it intentionally and engineered the backlash as a massive PR stunt. There was no way it could go wrong.
SofaH3ro
It does sound reasonable, but this time around they're not the ones releasing it. So if it does blow up big they don't benefit. They sold it off for 50 million, so hopefully it makes multiples of that and they look stupid
theInfinitelyProlonged
Just saw this today. Holy shit... I laughed through the entire thing! Great movie.

I hope the popcorn at the concession stand is made in an ACME Popcorn Popping Machine.
MrFrAnK9000
I feel like for a looney tunes movie some of the voice actors should have had their names on the poster as well. Aren't they mostly all voiced by the same guy?
kaijuuGold
gonna take the kids and extras before taco tuesday
jtthemediocre
Did some corporate yes man finally watch The Producers?
Theslipofashipcansinkalip
I won't go see it because John Cena (supporter of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)) is in it. Fuck him.
HolyFreakingToast
i hate looney tunes and WB animation - mostly because of tweety and fucking leghorn. will this movie reach me despite this bias? i would love to see the road runner killed.
Maulbert
Yeah, no. I'm far more like to say something mean here about your poor taste than anything else. Skip it so you don't make other people as miserable as you obviously are.
HolyFreakingToast
its really that leghorn and tweety - the birds - but daffy is probably my favorite and he is a bird.
really mostly tweety. 80/20 tweety and leghorn guy the worst
onecowboytoo
It is criminal that after the merger, they cancelled Final Space.
KingMagenta
I saw a early screening last Sunday. Absolutely enjoyed it! Everyone should go see it while it’s still in theatres
fastlaserjockey
Planning to see this tomorrow (Sat, I guess that's today now).
Legitimately more excited about this movie than Spider-man or Doomsday.
I want this to be so successful* as a giant cartoon mallet to the crotch of the WB execs that tried to shit-can it
fastlaserjockey
*(Unfortunately there's not a way to prove them wrong without giving them money, hopefully some form of Universal Karma kicks in)
Maulbert
Actually, Warner Bros. sold the theatrical distribution rights to Coyote vs. Acme to Ketchup Entertainment for $50 million, meaning Ketchup will be getting the studio's share of the profits.

HOORAY!
sekanna
On par with muppets for live action with "other" actors?
Maulbert
Yes.
Wasnbo
I would say it's not quite Roger Rabbit for how well it makes human and toon contact believable. But the world is so glibly believable, like, "Yup, toons are doing their thing in this world, understandable, no need to interrogate it," and it works a treat for the movie and its messages.
sekanna
Dude, Roger Rabbit is the pinnacle of it
Clockworkdancerobot
If I recall, companies were finding ways to bury things and take a tax break on it.
domillomew
their expenses are tax breaks either way, not releasing a movie doesn't somehow get you more money in tax breaks. they didn't want to invest additional money in advertising or distribution. if they genuinely believe a movie is terrible it may also harm their reputation to release a bad movie
iamchristyn5
You’re right
Bojovnik84
If they can't use bots to create a fake outrage to generate enough interest in a movie, getting a tax break is a good return.
Maulbert
Zaslav is a pox on intelligent entertainment.
Clockworkdancerobot
I think it was more a thing that many companies were burning shows and series in an effort to get a tax break. Several shows were outright removed from platforms.
Maulbert
Zaslav also was the person that decided to change the Discovery Channel from educational programming into trash reality shows.
tachyx
You mean ice read truckers? Wasn't this 20 years ago?
Maulbert
Discovery merged with WB in 2021. He's been in charge since.
Clockworkdancerobot
Effing Yikes.
lightfoot2
I know Dave Zaslav personally. This is the guy who turned "The Learning Channel" into "Trailer Life Channel".
No surprise there.
PilgrimScott
Lol, yeah we get TLC here in Europe, but I ain't seen any learnin for years. Just 90 Days Fiancee and other 'social porn'...
lightfoot2
He pretty much did that with everything. Turned Discovery into trash then merged it with Scripps to strip the value from that. Total and complete dick head.
OnyxTurret
You know him? Could you do me a favor and spit in his drink for me? Thanks!
lightfoot2
Nope, I did one better, quit and deprived them of my brain and effort. Boy that was a mistake.
TheVillageGrouch9000
Lowest common denominator programming. The stupid tune in... *sigh*
lightfoot2
Which is a sin as Discovery under Hendricks was an amazing place with creativity, profit, great shows, took science to the next level. Then Covey came in and did what he always does.
The same thing he did to National Geographic and others. Extracted value.....
onecowboytoo
Could you shove a red-hot fire poker up his ass?
lightfoot2
I have nothing to do with them and all NDAs are long gone

TLC stands for "Trainwrecks Love Cameras".
lightfoot2
Oh I like that. The staff came up with Trailer Life Channel.
