I'm pretty sure the creators of the Emoji Movie just watched the movie or the play of "The Producers" and decided to follow that same exact plan in the play, except instead of making "Springtime for Hitler" they decided to make "The Emoji Movie".

The Producers was a parody of cult films, I think. Asylum Studios (those horrible SyFy movies like sharknado) making bank in cheap films

The Producers was a Satire on the Broadway business model. "Springtime for Hitler" was the background. Brook's later movies were Parodies.
